Why do people keep buying this knife with all the more common negative reviews vs the positive reviews. I'm thinking it is because people want it but frustratingly can't afford it.

It's an iconic knife.
Iconic things gets plenty of supporters and detractors.
The lying didn't help, but I bought a knife, not a liar (I can find those for free;)).

I'm sure this is WELL worn territory but I've owned 3 SNG's, 2 production and 1 custom and they've all been fantastic knives with no issues what-so-ever.
I keep buying SNG's because I foolishly offer mine up every time I need to pick up a new grail. And every time I let one go I'm pissed that I don't have an SNG back in my rotation. The knife (in my own limited personal experience) is fantastic and I can't wait to snag another custom.

Stop selling your knives!!!
My wife said she'll kick me in the nuts if I try selling or trading any more knives, because I always end up buying them back...usually at a higher price.:o

BFC has a much more negative crowd toward Striders than other similar forums from what I have observed. I really like Striders and have an SNG as part of my EDC rotation.

I've purchased 16 knives at/above Strider prices. It doesn't have a thing to do with price, it has to do with value.

This makes me feel better, I know I'm not the only one getting threats towards my nuts if I sell or trade anymore. Well, I can trade or sell Spydercos and such but am not permitted to trade anything related to sharpening or made by CRK, Strider and the likes.

Same with me Stabman, glad to see I'm not the only one being threatened with a swift kick to the nards.

You lucky bugger.:D

Things that make the SnG cool:
-Titanium (I don't know why it's cool, it just is)
-Handy choil (or that's something which makes it suck...depends on how you look at it)
-One piece G-10 slab and backspacer combination :)
-Good heat treat on the steel
-Warranty (okay, getting in touch with them can be hard, but they'll replace it if you're stupid enough to actually manage to break it)
-The pivot makes other pivots cry in shame
-Massive body screws
-Thumb hole+thumb stud/blade stop=awesome
-Plenty of variation in blade and handle colours, handle texture/profile

AND you can start an online argument just by mentioning it's name!!!

Where are all of these negative reviews you speak of? I see a lot of negativity on the forums, but not so many negative reviews. Are you confusing the two or can you point me to some bad reviews?

Oh, I forgot the most awesomest thing about the SnG:
I own one.
That means that if you buy one, you'll be that much closer to attaining the coolness level of me.
That's worth at least $400, right? Right?

I can afford a Strider. I won't buy one for a multitude of reasons (which have all been done to death on this forum). Besides that for the cost of a production Strider folder I can buy a custom from any of a half-dozen well-known makers. If others want to buy or carry a Strider all the more power to them.

You know what they say about making assumptions.

Because most of those reviews are fiction?

CTS look up strider sng reviews, by the time your convinced its a good folder, 2 clicks later your back to its an overpriced prybar, then 2 clicks later you want to get the credit card out

Thats because people like to argue about preferences which is just beyond silly.

if I was ever rich enough to buy one I probably would, but to be honest unless the zombie apocalypse is near I probably wont even use the thing for anything more than cutting up paper when im bored, I dont use knives at work (just the cheap retracting ones) and I don't do anything otherwise that I need a knife for, so probably not worth it for me really since It would do everything a 20$ knife could just as well, in my case anyway.
