Having never held one, I can only go by the statements others have said. With that stated:
Reate seems like a company that makes knives for people who don't care about anything but the knife. The materials are solid, tried, and true. The fit and finish is top tier. The pricing is more than reasonable given the fit, finish, and (to some degree) materials. They're Chinese Flipper Sebenzas for people who don't care that it came from China.
I've yet to see a negative impression of a Reate, and I've seen many positive reviews and testaments from forum members whose opinions I respect and trust. Buyer's remorse is completely absent from every statement I've seen from an owner, and they so rarely come up on the exchange that it seems they become keepers.
I still say the value isn't there in my eyes, but I haven't held one... And I'm honestly really curious to try out one of the Begg Kwaikens. It pushes a lot of my buttons all at once.
