You could have that blade rebeveled/reprofiled in a half hour if you have the DMT aligner kit with the extra extra coarse stone depending on the angle you're trying to use.

I concur. I have a GATCO that is basically the same, and 90% of what I use it for is re-profiling. With "maintenance" sharpening, the Sharpmaker works best for me.

yeah, maybe I should get a better re-profiling solution. But I'd rather get a new knife first hehe. I understood up front what I was getting into with the sharpmaker and it's not so bad. I always like to have better equipment though.
