I don't know what to say first. The order could have been processed better. Apparently, CS staff have to manually input the online orders (something to that effect). So I was the lucky winner of the human error factor. Had to call again after three days to inquire about the order and put it through over the phone, because it didn't get input.

So that being what it was, i didn't have my hopes up too much. I ordered a Shovel after seeing a recent thread on it. And the 18" barong, because i am digging machete type stuff right now and I am trying different types for the zombie invasion. No really i don't have much time with a machete, and figured i should try them out and get good with a few of them.

The shovel surpassed my expectations, though i wonder what may be hiding underneath the very thick enamel coating. I saw it many times in pictures and it just struck me a gimmicky. But I discovered I really like the feel of the damn thing, its a solid piece. The wood feels very light, and not near dense enough for hard work, but thats the only thing I would complpain about, it seems very very handy.

The barong really surprised me as well. I have purchased CS machetes before, the grinds were way off (by the way these are pretty far off too, but not horrifically so) The edge steel will hold an edge as it is, the temper seems to have not been screwed up by excessive grinding. And the handle isn't the plasticized crap that came on the older ones i have tried. This was a semi rubberized handle, it was comfortable.

The order process failed IMO. But the products really surprised me this time. They were actually respectably made.

Well, IMO, the best part about CS products is that they're just plain fun. No, not the best quality, and I sure wouldn't risk my life on 'em given the choice - but for the price, you do get your money's worth...well, I do anyway
