Recent outages and the road map to preventing them in the future

Been lagging recently, I’ve had to resort to other things like facebook (god I hate that site), knife forums (just not the same) and Googling BFC (I figured if I couldn’t be on BFC then I could at least read about it).

Thanks for the work your doing Spark. You mentioned that your other sites have been having problems does this mean that 1sks is also experiencing lags?

Been lagging hard the last couple of days, but today BF is downright zippy:thumbup: If you changed something overnight, it worked well.

ETA - Big thanks to Spark for all his efforts towards making BF smoother and more enjoyable. Sufficient gratitude can't be expressed via text alone. If you're ever in Missouri, drop by and I'll bake your ass some cookies or something;)

I tried again last night a little after midnight.
I gave up after 10 min. of waiting.

Ok, apparently a new guy has been contracted to attempt to solve the problems (we'll see) and switch us over to the new OS. They are promising me improvements this weekend, but who knows at this point.
 
have you contacted internet brands who now own vbulletin? they also have a few huge forums that run fast and have 15k+ reply threads and search etc
 
What's really getting to me now is that it takes 5 minutes to connect and then it tells me my last sign in was 6 minutes ago! ( I got on at 10:33PM it told me my last visit was 10:27PM). Now I have to manually look for all the new posts since noon today. UGH!
 
but its been real buggy and slow for me for a few days now... both at work and home. When i go to post it just hangs indefinitely, close out that window open up a new one and check BF to see if it went through or not.
I aint complaining just thought i'd pass along the info:D

A new brain seeing things differently might solve the puzzle. The current "brains" deserve a thread in W&C
 
Ok, suppossedly we're switching over to a new VLAN this weekend and getting some other housekeeping stuff done @ 0100 Sunday night / Monday Morning. Fingers crossed.
 
"Spark" I have all the faith in the world in ya. Even went Platinum to show it. Thanks for the great site. I'm lazy so the lags give me a chance for some relaxing between post...:D Hope it all works out on Monday!:thumbup:

The forum has been screaming fast for me this last 24 hrs! Somebody musta done somethin'! :thumbup:
 
Having some continual 20-25 second lags that started around about 10 minutes ago. :(
 
Still variable over here in Scandinavia, including mornings when most of you are fast asleep. Today is fine, it's been very patchy at other times, had to give up trying to read or post on many occasions this past 6 weeks.
