Recommend a 2.5"?

Go 2.74 and you will find bliss…

Opinel No. 6!

(okay okay... so it's 2.75 inches... whatever... still a great knaf.)

Spyderco Techno 2. It has become one of my favorites.
It's over 2.5" (2.52" according to the specs).

Kizer Urban Bowie is fantastic, fun, and has a fairly unique blade in the 5th pocket realm. I consider it a little “big” knife. I have the g10, but the micarta looks awesome also.

Other options:
CS Engage 2.5 - this one is great!
Bestech Engine - 2 different blade shapes, great materials, fit, and finish. Con is price point and too pretty to use.
Bestech Bihai - box opening wizard.
Civivi Baby Banter - add Unlocked Composite scales and you have one of the best ever, seriously.
Spyderco Lil Native - find the cruwear bersion and you have a tank!
Spyderco Dragonfly - what to say, so many options, and just a fun little knife.
CJRB Maileah - loce this one, great nlade shape, but just always seems like it could use a forward choil.
Ferrum Forge Mini Archbishop - a seriously underrated knife.

For fixed how about the MKM Mikro. 2 blade shapes, great finish, excellent stock sheath, and a great add on kydex sheath.
I second the Baby Banter and Dragonfly 2 . Which one to carry is often my hardest daily decision.

Kizer Yorkie, the Urban Bowie is also awesome, the Dice from Spyderco if you find one, all really excellent slicers

I agree Lil’ Native is a great 2.5” blade. The black DLC CPM-M4 exclusive from Blade HQ is a winner. Natural G10 scales. Compression lock really makes it great. Made in Golden Colorado USA Earth :) It is a lot of knife in a compact package. Price is reasonable too.

If it calls to you, I happen to have an extra one LNIB that I would part with…

Ember from Razor edge knife, a small fixed blade, ground thin. A well thought out companion that made me rethink, size doesn’t matter.🤗😉

A fixed blade imo is superior in comfort and pocket space to a folder. When worn on the belt.
