Recommend a folder in S35V

LAPG TBFK (LA Police Gear- The Best ----- Knife) S35VN EDC Folding Knife, 5 star rated, $40. Hard to beat that price. If you are just curious to see how this steel works this might be the best way to go. In the meantime I'll stick with my Spyderco Gayle Bradley M4 steel EDC.

Good choices so far.

I love my Cold Steel Goldeneye in green G10. Yes, CS has cheesy marketing and not a fan of the Golden eye printing on the blade but its a great knife and can be found for $120 at BHQ (it being discontinued).

If you can find a KEEN, go for it. The blade grind is one of the best I've found, and the overall knife oozes with subtle design beauty. PERFECT EDC!

ZT 0450 if you want a stylish edc.
ZT 0462 if you want something beefy (great pricing right now!).
PM2 if you want something in between.

No disrespect to the Massdrop Keen crowd, but for some reason that knife just doesn’t do it for me—but it might for you...so it’s worth your time to have a peek.

I would like to try a folder in s35v, say 3.2-3.6"
What do you recommend?

Edited blade size
If you're "only trying" then I would say get something from Kizer, no worries, try it out...

If planning/hoping on committing to the knife you purchase, then go custom, OR grab a Chris Reeves knowing it might be a tad on the softer side for edge holding, but it will be balanced and tough as nails.

These are gonna get tested again but so far the one tested was s35vn but only 52hrc.so pretty low on the rockwell scale.

So while your getting what appears to be s35vn... It won't perform as well. This is why steel names aren't the best to go off of when making a decision.
Also I had this knife and thought it was pretty bad along with a few other reviewers. But hey if you want s35vn that bad at a low cost... It will cut. But that $40 which iirc is more with shipping. Could go to fund a better knife like a civivi or a Manly, or any number of excellent knives with good heat treatments. Just sayin.

The Chris reeves isn't soft. They are also proven good in cut tests. They are around 60hrc give or take. Have been since 2014 or so.

Warning adult Language.

The Kizer is a good brand for s35vn. Not the best of knives but great for budget minded customers. I recommend the Kizer t1 if you try one.

My personal favorite in that price range, EDC, and s35vn is the ZT 0808. They're all titanium, come in a bunch of color combos on a the second hand market or new they still come in all black. Ultra smooth action and typical ZT build quality. A great deal that I recently jumped on is a Kizer Lancer 2. All titanium, very good looking IMO w/ a recurve style blade. Found mine on Walmarts website for under $110, which is a steal since these previously were in the 180 range.

My ZT 0808 gets a lot of pocket time. If you like a larger knife, the current production 0801 is S35VN, too.
I wasn't sure if the 0808 had enough belly, but it's pointy and it CUTS.
