Hi ,
I have been member here for year and have my knife collection .I want to buy a fixed blade knife under 250$ .
But my problem is that, I live in Iran ,and actually is hard to buy knives for me.
Now I have option, to order one knife.
This is why your helps, will be great for me .

So if I make a wrong decision ,I have no choice to change.

As I carry small folding knives in my campings, I need a 6inch, or above ,blade mainly for chopping and bushcrafting.
Please consider,I can not use the garranty .so this option is not important for me.

Thanks

My honest suggestion would be a Becker BK2 - and a small axe (Husqvarna multi purpose forest axe) - the two combined should keep you under $150, and perform well for a long time.

Last week I used my 4inch ,linder .but not satisfied.
I had checked for esse6,falkniven A1, bk7 ,scrapyard711 and some more.
But because I just can buy 1 knife and bringing it here, will be hard for me ,so that is why I need your helps .

Big Chris customs. I just got my first scandi grind "bushcraft" knife from him a couple of weeks ago.

For scarpyard711, I sent email to their website.
Their knives won't come with sheath .
Also, I just can buy from Canada .

Out of curiosity, why? What do you plan to do with a 6+ inch blade, that a 4 inch blade will not handle?

I tried some chopping ,also some batoning .with my linder super edge 1.
I feel it so small and can not chop well.
Maybe I don't have good technique, so I preferred to select bigger blade size and weight.

If you're looking for something extremely utilitarian, highly functional and not in any way expensive,,,, Schrade Extreme Survival Knife SCHF9.

You can get a Becker Bk-7 or BK-9, they are great and affordable. ESEE is also a good option, even if you won't be able to use the warranty (I'm on the same boat, being far from the US, too), an ESEE 6 or a Junglas.

If you're OK spending a bit more, the Fallkniven A1 is really good, and has 6" blade like you're looking for.

Ah - I guess that's why I recommend a smaller blade plus an axe. I'd rather chop with a tool designed to chop. Batoning - for me - is a last ditch emergency thing, for when I don't have the right tools available to do it the efficient way. If I know I'm going out in the woods, I'm taking an axe. That's just me though.

Beckers are fantastic value. Condor has some good stuff too. Also ESEE. I'm fond of Bark River, although I'm less fond of Mike Stewart. Scrapyard or Swamp Rat would also do you well.

And, there are numerous skilled makers who I'm sure would be able to help you out. Check out the exchange and see if there's something in there you like!

There are loads of great options out there for you to check out.

Why can you only get one if they are well under your price range? I think a couple of backers and a few Moras will serve you well and you should be able to pack those into $250 USD

LOok at KA-BAR's chopper series as well, those run about and under $50 USD.

If in this way you can buy more than one knife, go for it

this is my main problem ,i can not decide between all these brands.if you want to take just one of them ,which one will you select ????

i can just buy 1 and ask for my friend to bring with him to iran for me ,not few knives !!

ofcourse is better for me to spend less ,but i mentioned 250$ so that i can get a really beast ,strong and durable knife.
A knife that most say ,yes this is one that you can buy !!!

I would get an ESEE 6. It's a good all-around knife, and should be able to both chop and baton reasonably well for it's size. ESEE also has a history of great quality control, so there's an extremely low chance of you experiencing any problems. (Not that the other brands have bad QC; ESEE's just especially good.)

please tell me which one you vote and have experience
esee6
esee junglas
falkniven A1
BK7
KABAR 5600 JOHNSON ADVENTURE
scrapyard711
