Hogue EXF01 in A2, 7 inch. More of an stout combat knife but it cuts very well .250 inch, $195 appx.
Buck Hood "punk" in 5160 at rc 57-59. Excellent cutter and slicer but still pretty tough. Only 5 5/8th inch long but probably my favorite in this range aside from
GSO 6. 6 " 3V, .188 inch, spear point. All top of the line but done in batches like Bussekin knives. They are worth it if the time works out.
Blackjack Tac ops prototype in A2 ( not 1095 like production models.) 6" all that's left for around $150. These are Excellent! Best buy as well.

Blackjack model 1-7 ( A2steel) ifyou can find one) is probably one of the most beautiful fixed blades. More a "fighting knife:, but worth the cost.Model 13 ( only 5.5 inch blade A2) probably more practical. I don't recommend the newer 1095 models. The Blackjack line, like BRKT knives are convex. GSP likewise.Hogue and Buck knives are "V" grind.
Ontario "spec plus" line in 5160 are great for the price. Choose the model that fits.
My first choice would be a Koster Bushmaster in 3V ( 5 inch). It's the best all around, the Survive GSO 6 next, than Buck Punk next. The Blackjack prototypes in A2 are next. All are can't miss.
Good luck,
Joe
Edit: I completely forgot the rustic looking but modern performing Von Tempsky Bowie 7 inch blade ( scaled down from the 11 inch model) Convex bladed L6 and darn near indestructible. Around $180 ish.
