recommend bushcraft knife under 250$ ,just can buy one

Out of the steels you listed I would go with 3V, and if you going with a Big Chris custom def 3V Chris does 3V right from what I have seen. Have Chris make you something 6-7 inches long out of 3/16 inch 3V and be a happy man for the rest of your life.

That being said KFU, Fiddleback Forge, and any other maker here could make you something out of 1095 or O1 that you would be hard pressed to do serve damage to but 3V will perform better just cost a good bit more.

If your goals are to buy useful outdoor tools then maybe reevaluate your needs. A decent hatchet\small axe, a folding saw and a couple of Mora knives are likely all you need. That is the practical side. My less rational side has a whole box full of cutting tools because...... I wanted and like them. I have ESEE's, Beckers and much more that will definately function well for camping. You are the one that makes the ultimate decision, rational or not. Sometimes its just plain fun to grab a wonkin big Condor machete and chop your fire kindling with it.

my idea was 3V too ,while chris told he will heat treat to 60RC for 3V

my friend ,as i mentioned in my early posts ,i just can buy one knife and bring to iran.So i want to make a good decision and trust to my knife.

What about the ritter becker bk12? It's more comparable to the esee 6.

i will check the details, but have you used bk12 before ?if yes, please tell me your experiences.

Hogue EXF01 in A2, 7 inch. More of an stout combat knife but it cuts very well .250 inch, $195 appx.
Buck Hood "punk" in 5160 at rc 57-59. Excellent cutter and slicer but still pretty tough. Only 5 5/8th inch long but probably my favorite in this range aside from

GSO 6. 6 " 3V, .188 inch, spear point. All top of the line but done in batches like Bussekin knives. They are worth it if the time works out.

Blackjack Tac ops prototype in A2 ( not 1095 like production models.) 6" all that's left for around $150. These are Excellent! Best buy as well. http://www.knivesshipfree.com/index.php?cPath=585_870

Blackjack model 1-7 ( A2steel) ifyou can find one) is probably one of the most beautiful fixed blades. More a "fighting knife:, but worth the cost.Model 13 ( only 5.5 inch blade A2) probably more practical. I don't recommend the newer 1095 models. The Blackjack line, like BRKT knives are convex. GSP likewise.Hogue and Buck knives are "V" grind.

Ontario "spec plus" line in 5160 are great for the price. Choose the model that fits.

My first choice would be a Koster Bushmaster in 3V ( 5 inch). It's the best all around, the Survive GSO 6 next, than Buck Punk next. The Blackjack prototypes in A2 are next. All are can't miss.

Good luck,

Joe

Edit: I completely forgot the rustic looking but modern performing Von Tempsky Bowie 7 inch blade ( scaled down from the 11 inch model) Convex bladed L6 and darn near indestructible. Around $180 ish. http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/SVOVTR/svord-vtr-von-tempsky-ranger-knife-6-78-carbon-steel-blade-wood-handles-leather-sheath

My reasoning is that I've put mine through its paces many, many times, and it keeps coming back for more.

And with practice, even a child can do fine detail work with one.

The BK-9 is a great blade my friend.

The BK-9 is a great blade my friend.

I will consider bk9 too.
But really can not do fine working .but the most important thing is that I really like the shape of blade more than bk7.

Great post Joe,

Thanks!

I imagine it would be a problem getting most of them. There are only a few that are stock type items carried all year. The ones that come in batches like the GSO, Bussekin and Busse are hit and miss. Luck helps. Personally either the Svord Von Tempsky 7 inch, the Buck in 5160 ( the punk), and the last few Black Jack Tac ops prototypes are probably your best bet. Of those, the Buck is a "V" grind, the other two are convex edges. All are very tough, excellent knives at great prices for the quality knife. I would be happy with any of them as a knife to last a lifetime and pass on to my son.

Good luck!

Joe

Finally I go for:
MLL custom knife ,jungle model .with O1 blade 6" ,1/4" thickness.
And one good option was that, he was out of USA and can ship to me with insurance.
Thanks all.

Dear brother,
Of course ,I will do so.
But really don't know how to load photos here.
I really want to show my knives, but can not .
Once I tried ,but failed.

It is very easy :)

You must first upload your pictures to a photo hosting site, I find imgur.com to be te one that works for me, then on e you upload them there, there will be a bunch of links above the photo when you select it.

Copy the one that says message boards/forums on it and paste it here in your post.

It'll have
IMG] around a url type adress

Congratulations, that's a very nice choice. At .250 inch thick it should be very, very tough. Hopefully your children's, children will know it's story and get use out of it, and appreciate it as well. Taken care of there's no limit on it :) I like that idea.

Good luck, and good fortune Furood.

Joe
