I'm on a search for a pocketable office-friendly folding knife. I've tried about 8 different ones so far.. Leek comes closest to what I like but I'm not crazy about blade shape and clip. I don't want anything bigger in any dimensions.. i dont want it thicker, dont want it heavier or longer.. also not wider or deeper (which automatically excludes spydercos.. but i'm not a fan of those anyway).. so .. what else is out there that's got a decent steel on it and is slim.
Oh .... must be one-handed .. i dont like lock-backs

UPDATE: under $100 if at all possible
go!

Here's the Leek on the bottom and the ZT 450 on the top. The ZT is a non assisted flipper but a nice one handed knife. Blade shape is probably what you're looking for.

It's a couple of ounces heavier. I carry it in my front pocket with the clip removed.

A very nice knife.

I'm in the office and have an Emerson Horseman and a Victorinox Alox Cadet in my pocket.

I use the SAK when I'm around the Sheeple.

I really like the ZT but the price is too high - i updated my original post to reflect $100 limit

The only option I can come up with is a Random Leek, same dimensions with an S30V tanto. Same clip, though.

I've tried the skyline and didnt like it. Buck Vantage is too "fat" - i want something slim

Honestly, and I'm not trying to be rude here, you seem like you already know what you want and you are asking in the off chance that there is some magical knife that fits your criteria. There has to be some give and take. Unless you want a full blown custom, you won't get everything you want, especially when your budget is $100. The Kershaw Skyline, Kershaw Leek, and Buck Vantage are three of the most popular knives in that price range. You either need to stretch your budget or make some compromises.

well the reason I'm asking here is to see if someone's aware of something that I'm not.. it's weird to me that small/slim knives arent more widely available at under $100 ..

Try the Spyderco Sage 1. A light, strong ,elegant office knife with superior materials and top line fit and finish.

Look at the crkt ripple. Under your budget, pretty sure it's right at the same size as the leek although I've never compared them side to side.

Edit: also look at the esee avispa. Not what I would call a "gentlemans" folder but it is in your size and budget range.

Then you need to narrow down exactly what you want and where you can make compromises.

Blade Shape
- For a small thin knife, most blade shapes will be drop point/dagger style.
Blade Steel
- For under $100, you will likely find 8cr13mov/8cr14mov/14c28n/154cm/s30v.
Handle Material
- Stainless Steel, G10, or Synthetic; You won't find much Titanium on a $100 knife.
Weight
- This is going to vary greatly. The Kershaw Leek is entirely made of stainless steel, G10 handle scales will lighten the knife tremendously.
Length & Thickness
- This is where you seem extremely adamant.

Man, I almost forgot about this one because it's been discontinued for a bit.

Check out the Spyderco Des Horn. Slim, trim, light, good steel and clip is very nice. There are a few still floating around for under $100 if you google for it and it lacks the characteristic hump that would make it overly broad in the pocket.

I know you said no Spyderco's, but I carry a Dragonfly 2 everyday in my office. The wire clip is VERY discrete and the knife is not wide at all (about 1" at its widest). Great knife and it does everything I need an office knife to do.

Not all that familiar with offerings in that size range, so I'll just suggest the obvious competition...
MiniGrip

Kershaw Nura 3.0? Just a suggestion...

3 inch blade, steel handle. I don't think it's very thick but YMMV. KVT bearings.
