since having lost my busse TG.
I feel like I want something of that size.

I usually wore it on my belt when camping or hiking, it was great for tasks, especially splitting wood.

What similar type knife would you recommend?

No coating on the blade, must have a straight edge to sharpen on a stone, and no damascus (not a fan).

I guess I could go up to about 300 for budget.

The second the recommendation of the Von Tempsky as a good camp style, belt carry bowie.

How did you lose the TG! That sounds tragic.:(

Here's what I have in similar size.

1st three that come to mind in the 7+" range with a straight edge bowie style blade;

Buck 120 General in 5160
TOPS US combat (1095)
Black Jack Halo (a2)

The TOPS has a coated blade though, not sure if uncoated is an option anywhere?

How about RMJ Combat Africa , although it’s coated. Chris Reeve fixed blades.
Busse DS8 comp, Busse Basic 8 comp. Plus Gollick knives and Shannon steel lab both here BF. Oh yeah and another I’ve been eyeing Gossman knives. Some of these go over budget though.
