recommendation for a knife to defend against a mountain lion

Awe yeah this is a great blade forum thread. Nothing like a hypothetical defense scenario to get the forum buzzing and this one takes the cake. Can't wait to read all the knife advise about how to prepare for a lion attack from guys with 50 knives, none of which even have scratches on them.
Common sense doesn't always need battle scars to be valid or did you ever need to touch 110V in order to know its a bad idea?:D

If you can't find yourself a "knife" chambered in something at least 9mm or larger (preferably larger), then bear spray. That stuff is truly wicked.

I sprayed it once just to see that it worked and to make sure I knew how to use it and wow was it nasty. Way worse than tear gas. It permeated the air, wasn't even a windy day. It turned the three of us into faucets of mucus, puke and agony for about 30 minutes. My advice would be to wait a few seconds after spraying it before taking a nice deep breath of what you are assuming to be fresh mountain air.

A sturdy walking stick would probably be a pretty good weapon for repelling a mountain lion as well.
