To be honest I have no idea! I have not even used it yet hahaha!

I have used the custom made by Richard338 though for camp kitchen stuff, and it's a winner.

The old mountain men did well with a plain Green River patterns, and that guy Kephart must have done a lot of campfire cooking. But...they didn't have a Michelin chef's rating. Too bad. What did they know?

This modified Kephart was designed with help from MolokaiRider with some of these considerations. The Kephart's handle swell below the blade was removed and finger grooves added. This allows pinch grip chopping on a board. The raised "guard" part of the handle was retained. It is stainless Magnacut at 63 HRC, and only 0.100" thick, so it cuts well. A swedge was added for better drilling and piercing. Jimping was added for style or grip on your thumb. The handle material is black linen micarta.
Intentionally, there is no choil to snag, and the plunge actually angles slightly back.

Id recommend one of Victorinox 6-8 inch wide boning knives....inexpensive,strong enough,decent edge holding,excellent geometry and easy to sharpen and touch up.

Have you seen the Sierra Chef Knife from Off Grid?

I recently suggested it to a buddy who I think received it today so I should be able to add a picture soon.

So the Sierra Chef was delivered to my buddy but I won’t see it until next Wednesday, so I decided to add a stock photo now before this thread gets locked.
