Spyderco Military is the obvious choice.

The BM 710 is also a good blade but not as good of a work knife IMO. I also prefer the millie's CPM-S30V over the 710's D2 steel.

The spyderco manix 2 would make an excellent work knife although it falls just shy of your length requirement. It may be worth a look and is a good value.

The barong is also a great knife but it is not in production and may be tough to find.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Don't pass on the Spyderco Gayle Bradley if it's big enough for you ;) The street price and the CPM M4 running around 65 HRC are just the value added elements

2 knives that have quickly become favorites of mine are the Spyderco Endura 4 G-10 FFG and the Benchmade 710-D2. So much so that I have been giving them a fair shot at EDC duties that I usually reserve for Knives in the ~3" blade length. Both are around 4".

definetly its either a bm 710, which i got 1 coming to me in the mail rite now ;) should be here by end of week...

or the spyderco military... i dont have this 1 but i do have a closely related knife.. the spyderco paramilitary... there very similar.. although the paramilitary's blade varies from the militarys 4inch... down to a 3.3 inch..

I love my Tyrades and I was looking around for Tyrades for you and I found a few at some "unknown" online knife dealers so I don't know if you want to press your luck. I do see them popping up occasionally on the classifieds here on BF(I bought one from kershawguy in the dealers section). Anyway, if you like ZTs you'd like the Tyrade because its just like a larger version of the ZT0350 for 40 bucks less. The ZT0350 is still pretty big even though its listed at 3.25 inches you get lots of cutting area. I alternate a ZT350KW with my Tyrade for my work pocket knives. You can find non-coated ZT0350KW and ZT0200KW at knifeworks.

I traded my Soyderco mili for Emerson CQC-10, I really liked the milli its big folder but thin and light, put it in your pocket and forget you got it until you need it. But I wasn't comfortable with it, don't know why. The CQC-10 is far less impressive but it is really comfortable for me. So I chose a knife I was more comfortable with.

BM 710, I don't like the tip-down carry or the light feeling of my Spyderco Military which oddly enough, cost me just as much to purchase.

The 710 and the Millie are not bad suggestions. The millie has no liners at all so you are just going on G10 for strength. The 710 has liners and an Axis lock for strength, but has a thin blade. If you want a big bad mofo. Check out the BM Rukus. The liners on the Rukus are as thick as the Millies lock and the blade is a good bit thicker
