Hello I am new here but do have a few knives. I have a spyderco techno, a spyderco southard, and a small sebby insingo. I am looking for another to add to the collection. I like simple frame lock folders around a 3" blade give or take such as the sebenza and the Gareth bull warlock which I can't seem to get my hands on. The Emerson mini a 100 is the right shape and size but isn't a frame lock and I don't care for the blade. I have roughly 200-650.00 to spend. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks.

Have you looked at the Grayman folders?

Also, Emerson makes framelocks in your range.

I'd look at these first.

ZT 0900, 0450 or 0808. The 0900 is a bit shorter, but is beefier than the small Sebenza. The other two are a little bit longer. If you like the flat, plainer look, the 0450 might be a better fit.

^^ This I think you would be blown away by the value you get from ZT, I am anyway. I would also throw an 801 and 0562 into the ring but they are quite a bit beefier than a small seb closer to your Southard. If you can get your head around a liner lock I think you would be amazed by the mini cqc15.

Darrel Ralph level 1 Dominator.

Take a look at the AG Russells Acies 2 or Gettleman Framelock. I just recently purchased their 3 1/2 titanium lockback and it's an extremely well made knife with a nice sheath too. And I hear my experience with how impressed I am with their knife is pretty standard on AG Rusell knives and their total satisfaction guarantee is hard to beat.

I agree that you should check these out. I have had the chance to check out all 3 in person, and they are all excellent quality, and IMO excellent value. I thought the 0808 felt best in my hand.

I have the first two folders, and several CRKs. My EDC since Jan 1 has been the Brad Southard AVO, a 3.5" flipper which I really enjoy. The "flipper" came with the knife, and it is transparent in my use. It works; locks up fast and tight, and works well. Beautifully designed framelock. This is a midtech by Brad...95% custom and 5% other 3rd party screws and hardware. I love this knife. I carry nothing else.
There is a nice Southard TOLK (4" blade) for a nice price in the custom section...two wks old. If that blade is too long, then find his AVO.
So very nice.

I highly recommend the Kingdom Armory Mini Samaritan, available on Monkey Edge. Here's an album of photos: http://imgur.com/a/o8SqN

Titanium frame, OD green G10 scale (not overly textured, very comfortable to grip), 3” stonewashed CPM S30V blade, bronze washers, carbidized lockfaces, 3 oz. Perfect fit and finish, lock-up, action, etc. I love the deepness of the belly on the blade--it makes for an amazing cutting tool in a very small package.

Well it may not be as simple looking as you are interested in, but I don't think I've owned a small knife I like better than my Gen 4 Hinderer 3" XM-18 Slicer.
Also an SnG has the same cutting edge as a Sm Sebenza. No knife I own has seen as much carry and use as my Lego SnG. You can go "Lego" for beef, "DGG" for light and grippy or "CC" for just plain sexy.

I am blown away with all the excellent recommendations! Being new here I wasn't sure what to expect. Looks like I have some research to do! Thank you to all!

I can also recommend the Benchmade 531 Gold Class in this size. It's close to the top of your budget and is not a frame lock, but it is sweet, simple, and classy.

I see we've gotten a lot of ZT recommendations, but I'll add the 0770CF. It's a liner lock, but I love the thing.

If you like (but are unable to find) the Gareth Bull Warlock, you may like his Shamwari...which I understand may be somewhat easier to obtain. Love the unobtrusive flipper!

Check out the Les George ESV. Simple smooth and well executed.

I will repeat what has been said and add a couple.

ZT0808, ZT0801, ZT0770CF, ZT0562, ZT0562CF, and DPX Hest Folder! ZT just does not disappoint which is why you hear it repeatedly on here! Welcome to the forums!
