Are these larger than the old aviator kit bags?

a comparison of the measurements (aviator bag mesurements from UKkitmonster.com) suggests they are around about the same size.

course, the ESEE bags are not made for the govornment by the lowest bidder, so they are probably going to be much better.

I would get one in black, but I can't afford anything at the moment.

I have a bag very similar and they are a must have. The only thing different about mine is it has a couple straps so you can wear it as a back pack. You would want to wear it for any distance but they sure help out when it is crammed full.

My dad was a pilot for the RAF and he had given me a parachute bag in desert tan from the war that looks like this only smaller. i have kept it as a treasure and used bag for may years. Its great to have a stuff bag not designed for hiking with like this.
