I also like the Seahorse Whittler but wish it had better steel Charlie . I really do very little whittling but I really like the design and expertise necessary to make a Splitback .

A lot of woodcarvers and whittlers recognize A2 as a superior steel, Harry. Can be ground thin and holds an edge. But even 1095 would be an improvement over the 420HC they use. Many have asked Case to do it, but they consistently make lame excuses to NOT do it. They made a short run of ATS-34 some years ago! You never see them surface!
