Red Rock Rover Sling Bag (Photo Heavy)

Warrior, sorry to drag up a old thread . You started this about 2 years ago. Do you still have the pack? what do you think of it now?

I gave this to my wife some time ago. She loves it. I'm thinking about getting another. We went for an impromptu hike yesterday, and I was thinking that I'd like to have a smallish bag again, just to have a more hands free experience while hiking.

I just ordered another one of these yesterday. "Twas $31 and some change shipped. The only difference in the new and the old, is that on the new, they did away with a row of molle webbing to put the Red Rock label on. No biggie to me, as I wouldn't have attached anything there anywhos.

Warrior,
Thanks for the update. I have the Remora and have wantd to get a scond for loaning out on hikes. I found mine to be great Air Travel "personal" items for carryone. Equates to a womans purse in the carry on rules. Great place for meds, a book, snacks and travel papers.

Used it for EDC for quite awhile for convenience items in car and at work.

Good to know this option holds up to use.

The first one I had, I kept pretty well full, as an EDC. I'm thinking I'll leave this pretty much empty, then just throw in what I think I'll need for a small hike. I tend to take way too much on hikes. Sometimes it's just to test out the weight in a new pack, but mostly it's just overkill.

:) I understand completely on the too much gear. My old Scout leader was a former Marine he beleived in team functions including hikes and camping. Everyone had their job and the strong carried more than the weaker. In family ventures, Dad is in the rear with the gear. LOL! Has been useful at times for my group and for groups we have ran across that were short.

I need the exercise anyway. ;)

I could sure use the exercise myself. Fat boy here has a hard time hiking sometimes.

Wow that's a really nice bag, I might switch over, my current small pack has seen better days. 25 bucks? You cannot find anything for that cheap these days!

Yep, $25, $31 shipped. Well worth it, imo.

OD freak myself. I did come close to ordering the digital woodland, however.

Got my sling bag in. I like the old design better, without the label on the front. It replaced a row of molle. Not a deal breaker. Much to my surprise, it was the old style.

Just got mine in today too, Coyote color though. Took it on a hike/fishing trip today. Very comfortable, and fits quite a bit of gear in a small package.

Another feature I noticed different than my original, is this has velcro on the front of it. My original was also a slightly different OD color, and the straps didn't match the fabric like this one does.

Yeah honestly it has more attachment straps than I know what to do with. And I noticed your new one is a different shade of OD. I love OD but I didn't like the shade they used in your first one, if I knew they went with a different one in the new models I may have gotten the OD instead of coyote.

Right now I have a ton of stuff fit into into it with rooms to spare and you don't even feel the weight on my back when hiking.

I attached a 5.11 water bottle carrier to mine, but don't like the way it feels when the bottle is full. Gonna take it back off. I'm pretty much gonna leave mine empty, and only take what I need for a particular hike.

Warrior, thanks for posting this information. I received two of them this week. Very nice. I'm going to make up a couple of GHBs for my family.
