Red Scorpion Six Blades E.S.K UPDATED! New ESK sent

Yes I've used it for food prep, opening boxes, batoning and wood carving

Well..I hate to break your streak of 9 consecutive posts.:D...but, if you have used the knife, then I would post your impressions on how well it did doing those tasks. I would call that a review.

Alright I'll take some photos of me putting it through realistic tests (I'm more of a table top reviewer so hard core testing isn't my thing.

More overpriced chinese crap knives from that dirtbag RS6?

Maybe you should post about it on his forum, people might give a crap there.

More pictures of MY ESK:

So I've noticed,I'll try to take some photo's of it wood splitting some time maybe that will help,I never even thought of that before but your right it does look like a cheap copy and now that I think about it the ASK looks like a direct rip off on the Bailey Bear Grylls,I appreciate the help and if there's anything else I can do to improve my reviews please let me know.

Don't take it personal...you'd just have to know the history of RS6. I can tell you that somewhat blurry pics of the knife in hand and being used and a personal opinion here and there would be better than the clearest possible light box pics here on BF.

I don't know how you get that from the steel alone but what ever, the cheesy sheath part I agree with though, also just note it's SKS-5 not SK-5

Both SKS5 and SK5 are alloys used in Asia. They are never used in US-made knives.
You posted prices of both the ESEE and the RS-6.

Quad Erat Demonstratum.

Wow talk about giving the kid a hard time !

I like the looks of the knife buddy, even if it is made in China etc it still looks far better than anything I had when I was 16.

Keep us updated on how you find it performs long term.

Well that's a bit harsh,I'm just posting a table top style review if you don't like it go elsewhere

I will post where I like.

RS6 has proven himself time and again to be a scumbag, so promoting his wares will never go over well here.

Asian steel? Yes but it's not a Chinese steel it's a Japanese version of 1080HC commonly used on Taiwan made knives,is that against the rules to post price?

I don't care about the maker I care about the knife,Benchmade stole the hole design from Spyderco,Strider lied about his knives being used in the military but does that make the knives of any less quality? Of course it doesn't I am not "myopic" towards or against any brand

"Hard core use" is not a requirement for a review. You like knives right? You bought the knife to use for something I presume...not exactly a collector's piece. So just use it as you would normally use a knife, take a few pics, and give an opinion on how it handles, likes/dislikes, what have you. Even pics aren't really a requirement to do a review but they can help a lot, and particularly in-hand pics are appreciated.

Thanks for the support, yes I bought it for an edc fixed blade and a small camp knife,I like the knife itself but the company is pretty stuck up just like the folks here mentioned

Well I'm relatively new here so I don't but would you fill me in?

Well, the history is long and convoluted but the main point of it is that when the originator of RS6 originally posted here, he was essentially posing as a custom knife maker. His prices were reflective of a new maker trying to get his foot in the door, and so were kind of expensive for a production but reasonable for a custom, as the market went. After a LOT of what turned out to be mostly fabricated information about his "shop" and such, it was discovered that he was having the knives mass produced for him in China, and was making an enormous profit margin on them here.

You couple that with the fact that he proved unable to follow forum rules about marketing his products despite being told on numerous occasions what to do and what not to do, the fact that he pretty much blatantly steals all of his designs from other makers--up to this point, Peter Jensen (who people also hate for being a crook) Dave Beck, Ed Martin and Jerry Busse are the ones I can think of off the top of my head--AND the fact that he seemed to have a propensity to create new, fake memberships in order to chime in on his own threads or other threads that were talking about his knives in order to say things like, "I love mine! Best knife I ever had" or "Wow, that's a neat lookin' knife! I gotta' get me one of those!" and, in general, people here just got very, very tired of him.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with liking your knife, and yes, it does look like a good, basic utility design, but as others have already said, there needs to be some pictures of actual work being done with it, and your feelings about its strengths and weaknesses based on that use. As it stands, it just reminds people of the commercials-masquerading-as-reviews that RS6 is so famous for here, and they'll tend to react accordingly.

Wow I didn't know all that, and his ASK looks very similar to the Bailey custom, thanks for sharing

Benchmade made good with spyderco, and without getting into it, you really ought to check your facts on the Strider fiasco, since you have no idea what it is about.

Also, if you learn the definition of "myopic" you will find that describes your approach to knife shopping succinctly.

So your basically saying that I'm shortsighted and not open minded huh? Anyhow I'm not going to get into any ridiculous argument over it the point is I don't care who makes it or where it's made I care about the knife and the knife alone period
