Red Scorpion Six Blades E.S.K UPDATED! New ESK sent

:thumbdn: He's a kid. Push more people away from the knife community. Real tough guy:thumbdn:

This is a knife discussion forum. The character and ethics of makers and purveyors is an important topic, especially when those qualities are lacking. Good people and companies garner a lot of praise, it is only right that scumbags get their fair shake.

The trend toward ignoring all ethical considerations while choosing a knife is disturbing. Being one who doesn't live in a morally ambiguous ethical vacuum doesn't make me a tough guy, or wrong.

Your personal attacks bring out such a lovely side.

So much for ethics.

Thank you, you're right.

Gentlemen, let's get back to discussing the knives. Personal attacks are out of bounds. A couple of you went to the trouble of actually informing the original poster of some of the background problems. That's what we should doing, providing information, not hostility.

I don't care about the maker I care about the knife,Benchmade stole the hole design from Spyderco,Strider lied about his knives being used in the military but does that make the knives of any less quality? Of course it doesn't I am not "myopic" towards or against any brand

You're 16?

pete

Pete's not accustomed to big words and when a 16 year old uses them it hurts his feelings.

;) (just kidding Pete)

Seriously though, you speak well and have a decent knowledge of knives for a 16 year old.

I myself do not care for table top reviews. I don't need to see any hard core use, but I would like an oppinion of how the knife performed in the tasks that you used it for. Also how did it feel in hand, balance point, edge holding after extensive use are all things I like to hear about in a review. With out those things, it may as well be a "Look at my new knife" thread in the General forums.

Best regards,

Tony

Thanks Tony,I will get some testing done with the knife soon,I've never used SKS-5 before but from what I read it's similar to SK-5 so it should have decent edge retention and it should be very easy to sharpen,we'll find out soon I guess I'll try to take some pics, take care.

I will post where I like.

RS6 has proven himself time and again to be a scumbag, so promoting his wares will never go over well here.

Well, he not the only one.

Honestly I like the sheath, it looks like a quality sheath to me.
The handle of the knife looks constable, while the fit and finish looks a bit rough.
And I like the pic's of the knife in use a lot better then the NIB pic's

that redscorpion guy pretty much burned all his bridges here before anyone got the chance to form a meaningful opinion of his knives. although, most appeared to lack any original thought, and iirc, they are not cheap.

kinda reminds me of the razr guy.

however, there are thousands of reviews and testimonials of esee knives and other well known, affordable, and reputable companies. and if you were to damage an esee like that, i have no doubt you would have a brand new knife within a couple weeks.

i like your reviews and you seem to be knowledgeable beyond your 16 yrs, which for the record, i believe you are.

my advice would be to focus on quality rather than quantity. one esee is worth 5 redscorpions or gi tantos.

Thanks for the kind words sir,I really do want to get my hands on an Esee 3 to test it out and I have no doubt that the Esee would hold up to such use, whats sad is I've had Gerbers do a better job than this RS6,specifically the Gerber Profile,it did just as good at slitting wood but it didn't bend on me it just need to be sharpened, and to add on top of that the ESK costs $70.00 while the Profile costs $17.00,I contacted RS6 to give them a chance to fix it and if they do the ESK will be strictly a collection item for me,also the HEST fixed blade seems to be VERY similar but alot stronger, take care and thanks for commenting.

Welcome aboard beta I've been posting here since i was about your age maybe a tad younger.

Btw the whole strider thing was a bit of a smear campaign and got kind of convoluted. Mick and Dwayne make great knives, If your interested in learning more about it i'd suggest the USN. Its another great online knife community, alot of my favorite brands and makers have pages over there.
