Rediscovered Svord Peasant

Thanks guys.
Jack- I think you will really like your Svord.
My peasant knife has bumped my Soddie.

You all are about to sell me on one as well. I'm not sure when I'd carry it over the Farmer that just got to my house, but it looks interesting.

Well, now it's a challenge, so I have to buy one ;) Thanks for the justification to spend the money!

I carry mine in a pouch while working with gloves. That's pretty handy with that loss of dexterity. I've stuffed my mini in my watch pocket more than once though.

I usually tuck mine beside my wallet, the tang doesn't clear the edge of my pocket. So yes, it's comfortable. I have read reports of the full size peasant's tang poking people in the belly but I can't comment on that.

I think there's a odd gene in human beings that makes us want to invent a better mouse trap when the old one works fine. That's okay, but we should remember sometimes simple is a good thing, and very often its good enough. The basic friction folder has been around a couple thousand years, and is still being used. That must say something.

I'm going to have to try out a Svord.

I carry mine right rear pocket, and I've never had the exposed tang poke me at all :P.

I made those scales from leftover from a different project. I only used a coping saw, a drill, and sandpaper to make those scales, but they made a world of difference in how it felt and looks.

And I love those higo no kamis, I've been thinking about picking one up for a while now. Because you're right, its amazing how well some of these older designs work. Things have been improved in the industry of course, but I still quite appreciate these older patterns/designs.

I do like pocket clips though, and will be trying to add one to mine soon.
