Redmeadow Pocket Blade Info thread

Hey, where's the perspiration? Fine, Keira Knightley then?

I don't know how we got here, but I'm liking it lol.

Thanks John. Making my way through the other thread on these, and love watching the build process. It's rare I venture out of the traditionals sub, but I went and clicked on a signature ( mitch4ging mitch4ging ) and found myself transported here :D
Glad you found us, we're pretty traditional around here, I like to keep things simple.

Thanks John. I ordered a matched pair of knives from RMK once (the other RMK) with white Micarta handles, and possibly it had to do with the finishing process, but both came with black dust/grit imbedded in the handles.

I wasn't in the least bit amused...
White paper or ivory micarta is known for getting buffing compound imbedded into the surface, I stopped using it o account of that. Buffing with white rouge will help but I think there are better materials out there now days.

I just received mine but I’m crazy busy the next couple of days but I will get some pictures posted soon. Thanks John

Dibs on one with red linen micarta and a left handed sheath
Got you on the list, Thanks and Welcome to the sub:thumbsup:

You're Welcome Greg, look forward to hearing what you guys think.

I've read through several of the old Redmeadow threads, builds and others, and one had an oblique cut piece of paper micarta (same as Richlite?). John, have you had a chance to play around with that since? You had included a pic, I believe of red, and it looked intriguing. Might have to start with thicker stock for that though, not sure.

Btw, that Serrano was beautiful, and I tend to like pointier things (like Keira!).

I've been using white G10 for some of my spacers but even G10 can get some buffing compound embedded into the surface which is sometimes impossible to get out. I think about going back to the fiber spacer material once in a while, they have a tendency to shrink and swell a little, which I don't like, but they seem to have a warmer more natural look to them, which I do like.
