Refurbish a Buck 560 Titanium

knifedonk, be sure to post pics when you’ve repaired the knife. I’ve always wanted one of those. And we all like pics.

One of these days I’ll try my hand at repairing a knife. I have a 90s 110 that I broke the lock bar spring on while trying to drill a lanyard hole which I’ve been meaning to find parts for and repair.

Looking forward to seeing your results.
There isn’t a lot of room for a lanyard hole on a Model 110. MT_Pokt was making Lanyard Hole Spring Anchors for the 110. See pic. Might be worth messaging him.View attachment 2248193

Took forever but I finally finished the knife.
The previous owner must have changed the 560 blade for a 110 blade which as far as I know are identical.
But he has caused a lot of damag and did a bad job of putting the new rivets in.

So I decided to grind the surface flush and also clean up inside the holes and then use screws to hold it together.
It is also a bit lighter now of course.

I like the look and how it feels in hand.

Thanks again for helping me everybody, especially T tiguy7 and A Abe Stevens
I definitely have even more respect for knife makers now.
Working with titanium is a pain in the ass if you dont have great tools.

Do you remember how much material you removed on the scales to get it flat? Looks awesome

Glad you like it S svlwolf Before was 0.17 inch. Now its 0.14 inch on one scale and 0.13 inch on the other because the damages were a little deeper. Could have taken off a bit more to make them the same but its not visible to the eye and I wanted to keep as much material as possible

Also had to shorten the screw barrels a bit.

Bought the screw/pivot sets on ticonnector.com and they fit perfectly.
