regardless of laws, are you adapting your choice of EDC to public opinion

if im at work i carry whatever i need for the job. sometimes its a two foot long machete. in that situation im obviously working and i feel im covered.
if im traveling to a strange or unfamiliar place but am not going to work then i do tend to not carry something that i think will attract attention. but i only have traditional styled knives and those do not seem to raise eyebrows.
but i also dont wave a knife around. if i need it i take it out, cut stuff and put it away.
 
I'm not going to break any laws, but other than that, I don't care if someone thinks my knife is too "scary" looking. Also I'll edc the largest knife that's practical for me. Which is one with about a 4 inch blade.
