Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I had to put this somewhere.

So I tried to claim two PM2s that pmotley009 listed for sale in the Exchange today (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...para-s35vn-para-cts204p-para-cruwear-military). He listed them for absolutely killer prices ($200 for a NIB blue M390 PM2 and $135 for a NIB green CTS-204p PM2). I claimed them both, but Reignman beat me by a few seconds and claimed the m390 one. No big deal, to the quickest replier goes the spoils, right? I still had the green PM2 lined up. So I refreshed the page a few minutes later to see if pmotley009 had replied and noticed that Reignman had edited his post that he would take the M390 AND the CTS-204P PM2s (and since he edited his post within a few minutes of posting it, it doesn't show as being "edited"). Now, maybe he didn't see my post and decided he wanted both, but I kind of doubt he didn't see it. I posted in the thread that I thought it was shady that he edited his post to try to claim the 204P ahead of me when I beat him for claiming that knife.

So he replied to me that he didn't edit his original post, that I was obviously a big contributor to the forum (sarcasm), and that my intentions were to flip the knives (which wasn't true at all). This post he edited while I was replying to it, so that now it only says "bah."

Now the reason I am posting this is that I just noticed two new listings on eBay for an M390 PM2 for $439.99 + shipping and a 204P PM2 for $389.99 + shipping by someone with the username genreignman... I know it's his right to flip items if he wants, but to lie about editing his post, to accuse me of simply wanting to flip the knives, and then to go and do the same exact thing really left a bad taste in my mouth!! Anyway, just thought I would share that with everyone.

Note: I'm not sure if I am allowed to link to the eBay listings, so I'll just post screenshots of them, in the event that he takes them down.


P.S. if anyone knows how to see the edit history on a particular bladeforums post, I would love to know how to do that.

P.P.S. shoutout to pmotley009 for selling me his NIB backup 204P PM2 at the same price as his first that he sold to Reignman, awesome guy!

Sad, but he's far from the only one, and there isn't much you can do about it besides giving us a heads up, and then we can decide if we want to deal with him based on our individual ethical views.

I personally understand what he's doing, but I also personally don't have to like it or have to deal with it....

How would he have the knives in his possession and listed on eBay on the same day he bought them?
That's impossible unless the seller lives in his town....

Right, I'm guessing he has these knives already, and perhaps he is going to keep the ones he got on the Exchange today and sell the ones he already has at the high prices? Or he put the listing up early and is planning to ship the knives, if they sell quickly, once they arrive next week? Who knows..
 
One thing I do is to save the page locally every time I buy or sell a knife. With a saved page, you could have proven that you were the first to claim the 204P. It's also helpful to have a copy of the ad, in case an unscrupulous seller tries to change it after the sale.

I'm big on this being a community of respectable knife people, so something like this totally rubs me the wrong way. Not the flipping part of course (greasy as it is) but him dishonestly muscling you out of a knife.

In regards to listing the knives on eBay so quickly........reminds me of the Blade HQ PM2 exclusive. Before the knives were shipped, they were up for sale on eBay! For 400!!
As soon as the flippers got confirmation, they snagged BHQ's pics and put them up.
Maybe this is what he did???

We should hear from Reignman. I remember a sale where the buyer edited their post to take an additional knife not knowing they had jumped the line. They quickly bowed out once it was brought to their attention. As far as the flipping, I hope it is not listed before received.
 
It is him. His name on eBay is genreignman, if you look at his items for sale he has a Sog limited #438 out of 1000. If you look at his recent post in the trader section, he has this same knife Sog #438 for trade (I don't think they made two #438, ha). I'm adding to this cause like stated it rubbed me wrong. I just started a PM2 collection (s30v, m390 so far) but they are all users (no safe queens) as I wanted to know first hand which steel or if I could even see would be best. I would have loved to grab that 204p for 135$.

It is COMPLETELY my business if I buy two knives from someone else and sell others in my safe. PLEASE by all means tell me I can't sell something I bought prior and keep a second?? Anyone??? That's exactly what I thought.

As if I'm the only one on this forum who didn't see a good price and decide to sell my seconds.

I've NEVER in 50+ transactions, 800+ posts had a problem, yet here you are captain 87 posts.

I've never once had a problem, even a tiff on here besides this troll.

You're right, it is your business if you want to resell items you buy, or sell duplicates of the items you already have. HOWEVER, what you're doing is basically flipping these knives. And in the For Sale thread linked above you accused ME of only wanting the knives so that I could flip them for a profit, when for all intents and purposes that's exactly what you were planning on doing and are doing!

You seem to think your number of posts allows you to insult, swear, and look down at me. Sure, I don't have nearly as many posts as you do, but I've been a member of this forum for years and contributed as I've had the time to (which has been more recently) and I have always done so civilly and honestly (unlike you).

I started this thread because I caught you being dishonest in the other thread (first about editing your initial post, and then about flipping the two PM2s) and I wanted to share that feedback with others on the forum as it really rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe you have been an excellent member of the forum up until now, but I think you're showing your true colors by how you acted in the PM2 for sale thread and how you've responded in this thread.
 
Wasn't there a song years back called "cry me a river" or something like that? Seems to be a lot of that going on around here especially in the feedback forums
