Working on a custom 2.5 with some very cool materials fromFixall who recently launched his own handle material supply website!
I would like to give a shootout toSharp & Fiery for helping me come up with a good scale/bolster/liner combo for this build!
So for these scales I'm using some stabilized redwood burl and some 80's Westinghouse linen crosscut micarta for the bolsters. I'll also have some g10 liners and bolster separators. It is interesting how much work just this step takes to get everything incredibly tight and seamless. Requires me using the mill to get a perfect flat 90° angle. I'll take some close ups later. I still have to glue up the next 2 liners (white and black, black will be touching the tang)
Thanks Josh! I should have a nice here on the forum within the week.
Coleman picked out a knockout combination! That lace redwood and vintage linen is going to look SO incredibly good together!
The CNC would explain why the hybrid scales I experimented with last week didn't turn out too great, lol.
Oh! That phenolic is actually by Current Composites.![]()
No not CNC.... Manual mill lol, big difference
Oh thanks for the clarification!!
