REK Ember fixed blade discussion thread

So.... what do you guys think about this. Here's the new blade shape and I'm also doing a new choil configuration!

And... ffg to make it a pocket razor or keep it a saber grind like normal? thoughts?

What would the blade length and overall length be? Edit; I guess the graph answers the question if each square is 1/2”

If it’s FFG then a swedge would have to be kept higher from the tip for sure. It would weaken the tip too much, I think. And the whole point is to have that oh so sweet working tip!

That being said, I’ve also been a fan of a swedge since conception. I’m sure something might get figured out.

Thanks so much! Coleman is right, I am not sure if a swedge would work with the ffg but we'll see.

it's ~6.9" OAL with a ~3" cutting edge

Scales are coming together! Took quite a while to get everything lined up perfectly and nice and tight. Looks seamless now though!

That's awesome!! I agree, it's tiny so easy to carry!

All finished up!! Was able to make the bead out of the leftover handle scraps which is a pretty cool use!

On a more serious note…. That turned out incredible! I am so blown away! The bead and liners were such a nice touch. That mosaic turned out great too!!!
