REK Q fixed blade thread

I’m more and more blown away by this oatmeal micarta. Was there ever any more info posted about the material? I know it’s vintage oatmeal but is it a Westinghouse made micarta? My pair also has some awesome black/brown specs peppered throughout if you look closely. I can’t wait for them to darken with use to see how they change!
Yep that's why it's designated 'oatmeal' (the brown flecks). I got it along with the richlite from Fixall Fixall , he can probably answer more questions!

After a couple of days in Denver (to check on weed prices?) the Q2 safely arrived yesterday.

Quick comparison to the CPK FK3, which is similar OAL but a little heavier. Of course, the Q2 is an entirely different beast with its unique shape:

Awesome knife, Josh. I'm amazed at the agility and the gorgeous grinds! Also, I like the sheath better than in the Q1, where I had to soften up the retention (I bought it used, but I think it was a common problem). Great idea to use screws instead of rivets, thank you!

Roland.

PS: Q1 is in storage, I'll get a chance to directly compare later in the year.

As much as I love the idea to sell first to folks who missed out on the Q, just a reminder that private sales type posts outside of the exchange are frowned upon.

Edit: Please see Blues Blues post below.

Have a great day, guys. Let the friday shenanigans begin!! 👊🏼

As regards selling...

If you have a gold membership or above, you can sell your knives in the Exchange. You can also put a small link in your signature to your sale in the Exchange.

Other than that, commerce is not permitted in the discussion forums, or outside the Exchange. You are free to discuss sales with one another via DM.

ETA:

There was a time when, in another maker's sub-forum, there was a thread specifically to keep members apprised of knives for sale by that maker.
Unfortunately, over time, the system broke down as a result of folks selling without proper permission, engaging in chit-chat and off-topic conversations, and it became a nightmare for staff to address.

As a result, Spark decided that no commerce was to be engaged in outside of the Exchange, but members could put a small link in their own signatures referring to their own current sale in the Exchange. What he specifically doesn't want is folks making posts outside of the Exchange directing others to their own personal sales.

All the scales choices from this release of “Q’s” are just awesome. It was a total bear to decide.

Hummed and hawed over the oatmeal scales, but I went with the R50 Richlite in the end.

Ditto....sort of. Got 2 sets. One of R50 and one of red/black. I think the R50 will end up looking their best as they patina from wear/tear and dirt/oil.
