REKAT Neck Knife Petition

Alright folks, practically all of you don't know me from Adam, but you all know about REKAT neck knives, and if you don't, you know now. You have also heard, I hope, that REKAT's planning on discontinuing their Fang and Utility models after they finish up this last run of about 800. Well, this posting is for those of you who want the neck knives to keep coming. Tell Bob what you want, what you're willing to do to get it, and why. Maybe this will get him and the folks at REKAT to reconsider; after all, he said that unless "something" changes, they'll concentrate on their folders. Let's be that something. If it means paying more to keep their company alive, I'm game--they're stuff's just too good to let go. Anyway, PLEASE express your wholehearted admiration of the REKAT neck models and pray that that'll be enough to be that "something" Bob and REKAT are looking for. Thanks to all of you.

Yes, it's pathetically funny that the stated reasonis "market saturation", yet they feel they would be better off making >7" G10 handled folders. Talk about a saturated market! I've certainly got enough >7" black handled folders to last a lifetime. Perhaps such a poor decision will make itself obvious to them, hopefully while they can still correct it.

I am sure that Bob has looked at the big picture and given alot of thought into discontinuing the neck knives. I wish he would reconsider. What would happen if Ferrari said "other people are making cheaper cars, so we will quit making ours"? The only legitimate reason for discontinuation is lack of sales. I dont see how that can be the case because you can never find any. If one looks at any other posts about neck knives, REKAT is always recommended.

I understand Bob's point of view and it is unfortunate that the neck knives are going away after the last batch is made. Do what I did: purchase one of each

. I got the green Utility first and the Fang arrived today and I like the shape of the Fang blade better than the Utility: it reminds me of the swept point on my Pioneer

where are you guys getting these neck knives? Everywhere I call says they are out.

The green Utility came in early last week from PVknife - they should still have some in stock. Some one posted they picked up a green Fang, and I sent them an e-mail to inquire which dealer had them.

Great little neck knives for cheap $$

I ordered a Utility from PV last week, but missed out and was told I would have to wait for the next shipment, due this week. Then lo and behold, the Utility that I had on backorder from Discount Knives arrived by mail today! Sweet little thing, my boss covets it already. Good thing there are more on the way.

I'll add my name too, i've never handled one, but they look great and I've heard some very good things about REKAT's quality. Please don't quit making them, I haven't got the Utility yet. The fang is in the mail, Utility's coming next.

What price would REKAT have to set to continue making the neck knives in smaller/fewer batches and still meet expenses and make the required profit? I would guess that folks might be willing to pay as much as 20% more if it would mean that a knife of this quality and convenience were still available.

REKAT make great neck knives I sure hope they don't discontinue them. I hane one and its great so please don't discontinue them.
 
I won a REKAT Fang at the Soldier of Fortune 3 Gun Match a couple of years ago and just love it. Excellent quality and ergonamics. Mine is Black, but dont you just love the NATO Green. REKAT was probably the first to mass produce a neck knife, now everybody does!

I have both a 1095 and ats34 fang. Wouldn't trade either of them. Every one that see these knives wants one. The ats34 is a beast!! Only sharpened once in the last 6 months, still hair popping sharp. It would be a shame to stop making these fine knives IMHO.

I have both of the REKAT neck knives. Love them both! The Fang was the first neck knife in my collection. Now I have seven or eight from several makers. REKAT got me started. If they ever decide to come out with a new model, I'll buy one! I think a neck knife makes a lot of sense, handy, reliable, easy to conceal and economical. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK REKAT!!!
 
You know, I was thinking the same thing about REKAT releasing a new model of neck knife. That would be great. Anyway, keep posting!

Gotta love that REKAT UNK. It gave me a nasty bite Sunday. I thought for a bit that I would need stitches. Still think it might have been a good idea.

i'll add my name to the petition also. i received my REKAT Fang 1095 about two months ago - love it! very little show through and i'm looking forward to getting a sheath for IWB carry. i want it to be at more of an angle than horizontal, point tucked down in. but i would definitely buy another one if anything happened to this one. hope they keep them coming...
