Full magazine but no gun??? I know, not a knife. But it's sitting between the sharpfinger and the bat knife in the first pic and struck me as odd/funny.

"One of these things is not like the others..." :p

I thought it was funny too, also thought, "Maybe it's a knife DISGUISED as a magazine!" Probably not...

Another thing to notice is that there are a fair number of hobbyist/small time handmade, rehandled, and kit knives in the mix.

There are a number of recognizable knives in that collection, including the CS Recon 1 at the top of the first pic. :) Lots of BudK but also Boker, Kershaw, Buck, Gerber, there's even a Spyderco and a "Knives of Alaska" in there.

wow I did not notice the recon, good eye!

Interesting responses.

Seems to me that to assume that every biker uses drugs and carries a knife as a throw-away weapon is just as prejudicial as people assuming that ANYONE who carries a knife, or who is into knives is a possible criminal or serial killer.

Seems to me that there is enough prejudice in the world without adding to it.

I'm a biker, been riding for almost 30 years. I also carry knives. I don't use drugs. I don't even drink beer. And none of my knives are "throw-aways".

Not everyone can afford, or cares to buy, expensive knives. That doesn't make them criminals.

Good points. I can imagine bikers have it tough when it comes to prejudices due to unfortunate incidents like this one.

I spy a Smith and Wesson HRT boot dagger and what looks to be a SOG fielder.

It makes sense to use cheap knives if you think you might be unlawfully using them - chances are that you only need them to be sharp once and then you discard the evidence.

A biker gang member carrying a Sebenza is one you needn't be afraid of.

The ''use it and lose it'' mentality. I forgot about that aspect!

What ever happened to the Buck 110 with a side order of ball peen hammer?

Really, I haven't seen many biker gang members down here that didn't carry a 110. At one time our local gang members carried a piece of chain at all times. Started with a bunch of redneck thugs back in the 70's, but they've changed a lot since then, and worked hard on changing their ways and image. Still plenty of rednecks in it, but its a much smaller percentage now, and many are pretty good folk.

The subject is the knives of criminal biker gangs, and I sure you're not a member of this type of gang. I think people are referring to these types of gangs, and not an individual biker as yourself, or even biker gangs for that mater. Just the criminal gangs like these, which there are many of.

We all know being a biker doesn't make a person bad, nor does being in a non criminal biker gang.
The only thing that bothers me about the non criminal gangs is that they often have huge rides a couple of times a year, and they always come way out here and up our valley road. You talk about loud ! I would think Harley would've figured out how to make a quitter bike by now:p I'm sure all of their riders really care deeply about how their noice affects others:D

edit to add- if anyone that watches South Park missed the biker gang episode you should check it out:D:

When was the last time you were in a shootout, with a rival gang? Maybe that's the reason for people's responses.

All I see are two pictures of knives. I don't see anything to indicate that any of those knives belong to criminals.

From my research, no one has been convicted of anything regarding the incident. None of the bikers are currently in jail. And none have been charged with any offense related to the 9 deaths.

Furthermore, I read in the Dallas Morning News that two-thirds of the bikers who were arrested had no criminal records.

Like I said, I see knives, I don't see any evidence that the knives owners are criminals. And I would not regard a person as a criminal unless I knew that they were engaged in criminal behavior.

I think prejudice is an ugly and unfortunate thing regardless of who it is directed at.

Shooting it out with a rival gang is criminal activity. Nobody here thinks all bikers are druggies, criminals or anything bad. Just those that have shootouts. Chill out. You wasn't involved were you?

Never. But I would not hesitate to defend myself with a weapon if I believed my life were in jeopardy.

Like I said, not one of those bikers has been convicted of anything. And no one has been charged in the 9 deaths.

And no facts have been revealed regarding who started the shooting. Like was it the bikers, or was it the cops? The fact that someone uses a weapon is not in itself a criminal act. I'm sure there are many on this forum who carry guns and who would shoot at anyone they regarded as an imminent threat to their life, or the lives of people they cared for.

No, I wasn't involved. But you're the one who seems to want to make this about me by asking me if I've ever been in a gang shootout, which has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. So maybe it's you who needs to "chill out".

Alright they were all angels. Whatever you think is fine with me.:D
I didn't say they were all angels. But I believe in the concept of "innocent until proven guilty". And I would extend such a presumption to anyone charged with a crime, whether they are bikers, cops, soldiers, or just some average guy who carries a knife.
