SHSH was $250.00 bucks
and a
SHBM was only $350.00 with the original sheath all day long?
LOL, I didn't think so.... Hahahahahahahaha.... BUT, it use to be that way when I started buying them.
So, Anyone else want to put up when they got a great deal on a Busse?

I remember when Jerry drove a LaBaron Convertible and a dog ate his bumper, when "Two Weeks" meant at least 2 years.
I had 8 Satin SHBM's and 11 SHBM's at one time and dozens of Lean Mean Streets and Prototypes.

Now all I have is 8 MOAB's and a few bags full of stuff I've forgotten the names of.
Once upon a time I was almost an INFI Hog and we use to just give each other knifes for free.
The bestest gift given to me was a Satin Gladius, Thanks GPB ;)

It almost seems like there was World Peace back then...Boy, how times have changed.

Only 8 Moabs eh? Poverty. ahhahahha.
Yeah those good ol'e days had some pretty good feels...
I'm not as old school as you, but i'd like to think I still got in on some of it.

For me it's all about the designs. & the warranty....& the experience of looking forward to getting something new and interesting.

I've been thinking about selling some of my Steel...but I don't want to be Regretful, Especially if I'm chained to a dirt bike in the middle of the desert. hahaha.

Coated MSRP would be close to $550 in todays dollars

I Need a War Boar, I really do... I can barley cut my corn flakes in the morning with my rheumatism. My doctor says I can't drink anymore, she has checked all my labs and she says I'll need to go on a IV to get any more alcohol in... My insurance doesn't cover that (Thanks Obama). But she is pretty sure the curvature of the War Boar and the LG Ring will allow me to enjoy my Tony the Tiger breakfast.

Anyone else remember the days when SOP on the exchange was for the buyer to send payment and the seller to ship the knife THE SAME DAY and same service level? (weren't no PayPal back then..)

The goal being one got a knife and one got a money order on the same day.

Lasted longer than most cynic's may believe.

Wait, did you give this person the souls of a few kids for a gladius??

And, a lot of times you could make payments to the seller for the knife after he shipped it.
There were many that helped me get the Grail knives I wanted back then.

It was a time when America shut down, homes were foreclosed and construction was stopped... Someone more fortunate than me at the time was able to be generous and gifted me a Gladius.
It was a Humbling experience. If I ever win a big Lotto Jackpot, there will be several people that will be retiring in short order.

Sure wish I was around to be able to have any of those memories. Although I have gotten many great deals on older Busse knives, it was more luck of the draw than getting an outrageous deal from an “ Old Hog.”

The only potentially amazing deal I had was at an estate sale here near the end of 2022. My extremely well off sis and Bro in law have a friend who does estate sales. BIL brought me to look at the guns amd ammo as I'm a certified Gunsmith (Static Test Engineering tech by day). We got an early peek.

I saw knives and got excited. Saw a Busse and my heart skipped a beat.

There was a badger attack with no Busse markings and another smallish Busse with glow in the dark handles that bids were going to start at $3.00 a pop. There was also a good brand name specialty belt grinder specifically for knife making that they were going to start bidding at something ridiculous like $100. MSRP was around $2800.

Long story short-ish, I made them up a list of what I found, what would be a good deal and what wouldn't, yada based on what they wanted. When I gave them the list, I asked them to bid on the knives for me since I was doing an annual camping trip to the desert with a great group of people who I adore. Go figure. My rich ass family expected (without asking) me to not only be the guy who did all the ground work/research, but to miss my long-running annual explosion making, gun shooting, log chopping desert trip with my favorite friends.

So I missed out on a stellar opportunity to score some old school INFI and a belt grinder of my dreams. But it was satisfying to remind my sibling that I'm the one of six that will not be held under her thumb because she is sick rich.

Sorry. More of a rant but that is the closest I ever got to a like "great" deal on a Busse. That being said:

Every Busse I have ever purchased has honestly felt like a great deal. I love the brand. I love the warranty. I love the customer service. And gosh dang it, I love all you knuckleheads.

Bought a few rat tails for 100 bucks each
Bought a swamp rat hatchet for 100 bucks
