I've purchased 3 knives from the Exchange, paid instantly with Paypal and given good ratings when I received the knife. I've only received 1 rating in return.
Don't forget to rate your deal people!

I didn't know it was a "Thing" to do the first couple years of buying here.....
It took awhile to learn the ins and outs of the culture here.

Sorry, for all missed opportunities!

As stated above, some don't realize it is the thing to do here, or forget. I suggest you send a message that you just gave them feedback, and if they have the time would they please do the same.
All you can do is ask

It's all good. I'm not the type to hound someone in my own interests. This was more of a PSA.
I had to list some facts to support starting the thread per the GBU rules...

I’ve found about 1 in4 give feedback after they have been established(similar across many forums). Even after a message stating that positive feedback was left in their favor sometimes you are left hanging.
Also sucks that feedback stats aren’t visible currently.

Not hound, just ask nicely. When you have very little feedback, feedback can be important to making deals.

What do you mean about not being visible?

I think I can see everything

I’ve dealt with some prominent people on here… after leaving feedback and they didn’t reciprocate it, I’ve just put them on ignore.

I can't see the feedback rating and I've been unable to leave feedback recently. Spark said something happened after an update or something. I wish it would get fixed soon

You can still leave it, just takes a few steps- copy thread address, the click on members name, click add feedback then paste in address and add feedback.

Good to know thanks. Unfortunately most won't probably go thru all of that to do it

Optimism my friend. That's what I do and also copy and paste our sales/purchase thread in our PM to make it easy as possible. In the PM is where the feedback option is that is to the right of the name. Most of the fellas I've dealt with do take the time to leave feedback, but you always have your one or two bad apples in a bunch. ;)

No harm in following up with a DM politely asking for feedback.

I've missed a few feedback ratings. The majority of buyers that don't leave feedback after a reminder, are ones with low post counts and only participate in the exchange.Had one or two buyers ghost me after receiving their item and not here for any discussions or contributions to the community.

This has been my experience as well. I always try to leave feedback, if I missed one - it was an honest mistake, or, the other party was a person I blocked. I like giving member’s feedback - let’s everyone make a better decision about dealing with them ( hopefully ). You can still see feedback through PM’s.

I personally don't understand how some people here can be so damn lazy/rude. There's zero excuse for not reciprocating feedback for a positive transaction. Any instances when I haven't left + feedback, has been intentional.

I don't blame you! I've given killer deals here on quite a few knives over the years, and not as much as a simple "thank you" in return.

If every member participating here in the exchange were just like you, Luge, BladeForums would be a knife hobbyist, Utopia! You are most definitely, a class act.

There is the rare exception to the rule, however. I'm presently engaged negotiating a possible trade with a certain member here. There is no freaking way in Hell, that I'm going to be that guy blemishing that magical perfect score he's worked so hard to achieve!

I've started including a handwritten note with the knives I sell. I just thank the buyer, wish them well with the knife, and politely remind them to leave feedback if they're pleased with their purchase. Some might feel that's too pushy, but I do feel like it has increased the amount of feedback I get. The knife world isn't that big so I'm keen to do anything I can to make each transaction a good experience. You never know when you might deal with same person again!

I might just be dim but some of it might have to do with ease of use. I've spent the last 10 minutes trying figure out how to properly leave feedback.

Click on the members name (twice) and then click Add Feedback... ;-)
