Remember When Nutnfancy Reviewed a Knockoff XM-18?

I'm grateful that nowhere in my dusty cranium is there a single memory of that guy having done anything.
BRUTAL haha. But fair. I remember being a huge fan of his when I first got into the hobby back in 2009 (I was a kid, not even a teenager yet). Him and CutleryLover were my favorite channels. I fell out with his channel as he got more longwinded and cocky though.

yep, but less hammer from me on this.😉

nope on this video. dont remember it. his videos were always very talky, repetitive and long winded. I have the patience of a 5 year old....so never could watch more than couple minutes of any of them and kinda stopped long ago.

I used to watch his videos when I first got into the hobby (around 2010). Every now and then I’ll check in just to see what he’s up to. Usually nothing interesting.

Reminds me of when Wranglerstar reviewed a Cold steel panga machete saying its only purpose is “genocide maybe”. Said it didn’t cut well,
as it proceeded to cut everything he swung it at.

I always thought his “philosophy of use” was stupid. They are knives! They all cut things.

He also reviewed a ZT006 that turned out to be fake too Too bad it was pulled i would have loved to see that...

I wasn't aware that he had reviewed some fakes, that's kind of funny.

I do recall one of the last videos of his that I saw, years ago. He went to a little gully in the desert with a small duffle full of various knives, which he proceeded to smash against a rock repeatedly until they took damage. One was a Cold Steel Chaos Dagger and the other was a surplus Bulgarian bayonet for an AK-47 SKS, which snapped pretty quickly. He then commented how crappy they were, as if they were failing to function as designed.

The kicker? This was the second time he performed this "test" with the same knives. He'd already broken one sack of knives and returned to the same rock with a new sack of replacements, checking for consistent results.

JoeX is a scientist by comparison (and genuinely more entertaining).

*edit: I found the video.

I throw up a little that I used to take that guy the slightest bit serious. Initially maybe early on in his career when he wasn't so full of himself I'd like to say his reviews felt genuine and heartfelt with purpose behind them. I guess it creeped in because I'm not sure when or what video it was but I remember being disgusted enough that I unsubscribed and told youtube to no longer recommend his videos ever again. I've never even once been curious enough to look him up to see if I'm missing out.

My memory of quitting Nutnfancy was him picking up a little toy airplane off his desk, and then "flying" it in front of the camera going "na na na na na na na na na", and me thinking "why am I watching this? ... I'm not."
