Removing a glued wedge

I have not. But I think it would do OK. But it's rather prone to rot.
The potential for rot is my only concern with it. I don't see any reason why if it's kept oiled and away from rain it wouldn't last as long as any other wood.
From my trials it is far and away the best wedge I've ever tried. I'm like a frigging birch salesman all of a sudden. Hahaha. I just can't help sharing it because I'm excited about it.
WOW that video was incredible. The whole darn shovel outta wood. I enjoyed watching every swing of his axe. Placed just where he wanted. That was awesome. Thanks guys.

Harvey Ward, 'The Last Shovel Maker', called it popple and swore by it for making shovels.

I was so pleased when I found a shovel made in the style of Harvey Ward. No idea who made but it might have been Harvey. Regardless, the craftsman showed his skill in the shovel.

Thank you for posting the link about Harvey Ward. A wonderful piece to watch and burns a little to know if anyone is still making shovels this way, anywhere.
Thanks SquarePeg
