On Oct 2 I bought a magazine for a Sig 228 from George H Kim, email address georgehkim@hotmail.com and he goes by the handle remyjoeboxer at Jerzee Devil, no idea if he's around here or not. I searched for that username and got no hits here at BFC.

Anyway, my last communication from him is a PM indicating that I'd have a postal tracking no. on the Monday following Oct 3.

Okay, flash forward to Oct 19 - I'm a busy guy and I forget about this for a little while, but I remember no confirmation no. and no magazine.

I dropped him both email and PM, asking for one or the other - no response.

On Oct 26 I was tired of waiting. I contacted paypal, initiated a Dispute and immediately escalated this to Claim status. Paypal would handle the comms from here, and they sent me a copy of the notice of Claim against his acct for failure to deliver. They told George he had until Nov 5 to respond, or the matter would be closed in my favor.

I got my funds back today. George H Kim, aka remyjoeboxer never bothered to even respond to a PM, never mind the Paypal claim.

I know a lot of folks here bitch and moan about the 3% paypal tags us for. It's the cost of doing business and frankly, none of us here without retail stores could accept credit card or direct payments without it.

It was only $35, but fuck George and his little thieving pony. He stole from me and Paypal recovered my funds.

My thanks to Paypal and beware remyjoeboxer/ George H Kim. I do not have an address for him or I'd post that here too.

George, if you're here, I'd LOVE to hear your reasons for the above.

That name sounds very very familiar, for some reason I suspect he is or was here on BFC.
Thanks for the heads up Parker, if he is here hopefully you have helped curtail his scamming ways (at least here on BFC).

He's on here. I don't think he posts much. I recognized his name one day after he asked me 20 questions about a knife I was selling on ebay and then never bid.

Glad to be of service, gents.

If anyone is active at other major knife sites, pls feel free to cut and paste the original post at those locations. Give em my contact info here as well if appropriate, I hate a thief and knowing some of the other nonsense which goes on around here, I'm glad it was for cheap and I used Paypal

(I can hear it now - Parker is a shill for Paypal.....:p)

Glad you got your money back! I thought PayPal hated guns and would not allow payments for guns and gun-related stuff. Guess I was wrong.

That is starting to sound like an urban legend...
Check out how many knives are listed on eBay, and guess who owns PP.
And most online knife dealers are accepting PP directly at check out.

From PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy:

You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

1.violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation

2.relate to sales of (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (d) items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime, (e) items that are considered obscene, (f) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (g) certain sexually oriented materials or services, or (h) certain firearms, firearm parts or accessories, ammunition, weapons or knives

Dunno if it states elsewhere which certain firearms, accessories, etc. are included.

Matt, the policy seems to be used for excluding functional firearms, lower receivers, knives which may violate federal laws if crossing state lines, and ammo.

LOTS of gun parts and knives being sold and paid for at Ebay with Paypal.

I made a point of stating in my note to PP with the claim that the magazine was in fact legal where I live.
