The pocket clip on the 25 fell right between one of my joints, so it "cleared " any hot spots...on the Inkosi, it brings the tip of the clip up to my palm...kinda sucks, but i rarely "death grip" any knife, so, i'll be ok lol
i guess i'll buy one if they ever end up making one with an insingo blade.
the angled pocket clip is what worries me the most. My 25 melts in my hand - so amazing comfortable.
I guess I'll buy one if they ever end up making one with an Insingo blade.
Rather than a death grip, how about just a working grip like cutting up a box or are you saying it only hot spots when you death grip?
If you still had your 25 today, which one would you sell?
In my opinion...
At the end of the day the purpose of a knife is to sit comfortably in my hand and cut things. I don't like how open the Inkosi washers are on the large as I EDC so it's going to get clogged super fast compared to a 25 but if this clip makes it fit better I would still be happier.
I would rather have a knife that is comfortable than one that has some other features less important.
I'm probably not alone on this one but when I look at the lint stuck in my 25 I think why didn't they close those washers in? I was pumped the Inkosi would solve that.
I wonder how contaminated a regular gets.
One more question, can you effect the action by squeezing the scales together?
Im really still trying to adapt to the whole package to be honest. The Inkosi is not severely different from the 25, but just enough to tell it is.
I will have to play with my grips on the Inkosi to state fairly whether its a normal working grip or death grip that induces the clip problem.
REALLY wish i hadn't sold my 25 a few months back...would be nice if i had both side by side.
Also, cant help but notice the glaring openings on the washers of the Inkosi. Im thinking they could have made those areas solid?
My biggest gripe so far is the unexpected slenderness of the body/scales. They milled out some from the top/spine and it made the knife skinnier. I have medium hands and it would be nicer with a fuller grip.
I know im repeating myself on gripes lol
Yes the slenderness bothered me as well. The clip position created a huge hotspot just by holding it in a normal grip. I knew if I have to do any type of work (cut cardboard) it would bother me immensely. I was so looking forward to the Large Inkosi but I will be sticking with the Umnumzaan, 25 and 21 for my large knife needs. And this is coming from someone who believes the best CRK knife (and the only one I would have if I could only choose one) is the SMALL Inkosi.
What size hands do you have?
I was really pining my hopes on the large Inkosi, as I could afford to go a littler smaller than a 25, but the small Inkosi is not even usable for me. I was hoping for a medium that would be comfortable to use, even if a tiny bit small but easier on my pockets and does not get rubbed by my seatbelt in my car as it's a pain to have to take it in and out all the time. Basically easier to carry since most of the time the knife is being carried not used.
So I'm kinda curious how you can fit both extremes comfortably I guess.
I'd like to see an Insingo blade in the 25. As it stands now, it doesn't seem, (to me at least), that the "improvements" on the Lg. Inkozi make it better than my 25.
I know it was already asked, but didnt see the answer:
Chris is no longer part of CRK? Why? He is retired or sold the company?
For the thread:
Lg inkosi has the same blade lenght like 25?
I have Large size hands bordering XL. The small Inkosi feels like it was made for my hand. I agree CRK NEEDS to put out a medium version and it would be amazing. Again I see the Large Inkosi as a fail, but that is just my humble opinion and I am sure it will sell great...
Every since I got my 25, I've been dreaming of an Insingo 25 but the Inkosi seems to have shattered that dream.
But I'll gladly settle for an Insingo Inkosi (say that 3 times fast)![]()
To be fair, I just did a test with a few of my CRK folders regarding the clip problem.
I handled a Large Reg, 21, and Umnumzaan. The clip from them all falls around the same place on my palm. I guess we're all so focused on the Inkosi and every little detail about it, that little issues become amplified.
I think its the handle widths on these knives that dictate how much or how less clip pressure one feels. The Inkosi is ultra streamlined and i think a streamlined pocket clip should be looked at by CRK. They're using the same clip from the last 15+ yrs.
