Rendezvous 2015-Anybody Makin' Plans?

Sarah, my plans right now are Friday morning dropping in, will have my sharpening stones so for sure I should be able to get one of your knives sharpened up as I show my 'way' of sharpening by hand and will have along with a few knives, my collection has waned a great deal since last we met :( but that's how it goes!

Hope to see some of you folks there on the porch too !

Are there vendors there?? Besides their store?? Special knives?? Am I going home with an empty wallet?? :D John

Vendors? No. Special Knives? Absolutely! And some Buying, Selling and Trading going on among the Attendees. Make sure you fill your tank before you get to Titusville! Then at least you'll have enough gas to get home! :D

Me and the wife will be there sometime Fri.. First for me and really looking forward to this!!

Wife just informed me I will be flying solo.. Work.. Will make the 2hr trip solo.. John

they just posted the rendezvous knife today, #74 warrencliffe trapper in tortise shell acrylic. Very classy looking!

Can someone capture the picture on GEC's site?
I'd go to the Rendezvous just to get one of those Wharncliffe Trappers!:)
Looks like a Saber grind doesn't it??

Here you go:

All brass liners, shield, etc., but even with the saber grind (if indeed that's what we're seeing), it's...

...still just a #74, right?

The tortoise with brass accents will look fine, but I confess I was hoping for something new, or more of a twist on the old. :o

who suddenly remembers she hasn't been wooed by a Rendezvous Knife yet, so perhaps is not the Target Audience® :D

No picture showing up for me, ~P? My computer or yours??

I am very interested to see the "Tortoise" and Brass combo in real time!

Ah! There it is - my computer or server.
I agree with both of you!! It's just a #74 Sarah, but because I went to Tony Bose Appreciation school, a WT is a superior pocket kit!:D
And I agree, Perry, it is beautiful in appearance: Tortoise and Brass!! Bolster too!!
I like the patina that Brass develops! I wonder if apple cider vinegar will turn it blue/green??
(verdigris?)

Could be fun!!:D

I had not heard of this. It's funny because I will be headed to western Virginia (not quite West Virginia, LOL) during that weekend. Moving there with the family and belongings in tow. My wife is not as enthusiastic about knives as I am, however, I have been known to talk her into a few things from time to time. Like driving up to Olean, NY just to see the Cutco/KA-BAR factory, haha.

Anyway, if you happen to see a huge U-haul moving truck towing a Toyota Tacoma, parked there, then I am there, haha.

Sup wid dat? photo changed and to my eyes pretty neat looking set of knives here, but again, sup??

G2,

GEC names their What's Happening poster the same thing every time, so if someone hotlinks to it, it will show up as whatever the current one is. That's why the rendezvous knife is no longer showing.

Ah ok I saved it to my photo bucket in case it changed again:)
But didn't have the original:(
