Repurposing an Old Rug: Pictorial History of a Complex Project

Amazing man, they look great, a ton of work there for sure. She certainly will get a lot of looks with them, please tell me her saddle is not pink :)

But they do exist. :D:D:D

Thanx for the explanation on how you cut the hide and why.
I never considered working around bald spots...

Holy cow that is awesome! Every time someone suggests I should get into equestrian stuff I almost die of laughter. Then throw them out the door.

Finally had a break in the weather. Able to get some finished pics of this pair of leggings. It was still a cold blustery day.

We'd left the bottom fringe a little long. Cara initial wanted to twist the fringe. Now she's not so sure. In twisting the fringe, each piece is dampened pretty well, twisted and then the end pinned to a board to dry. With as much fringe as this pair has it would be a very involved project. If she decides against it I'll trim the fringe a couple of inches and she won't step on em as she walks.

There ya go thats pretty much it. Thanks for looking and comments and questions are welcome.

Awesome project. After all that work it wouldn't seem like twisting the fringe would be so bad :)

Beautiful work, very very nice.
From design to completion a true master at your craft sir.

Thanks guys! Means a lot. Eric, she is going to twist the fringe So Cara nad Nichole will get together one afternoon and get that done. Be interesting to see with that double fringe. Thanks David, means alot. I noticed Cara's shirt having those same paisley lonzenges as the dragonfly in the carving. Those things must be in. Was at the local girls high school varsity basketball game last night watchng my niece play. There was a gal in the stands with a very large tote kind of purse. It had those lozenges and big ones, 8 to 10 inches, sewn on to the leather of the tote. Ya gonna have to incorporate that into one of your combo (kydex/leather sheaths).

Great work again Dave :)

I especially like the stamp work on the belt. I've never seen that pattern before.

Thanks kaizo. Thats a Barry King stamp, Nichole uses it a lot on her purse straps.
