(Resolved!)Alrighty, looking for a high quality EDC Folder

Thanks for all your advice guys, I actually ordered something while the site was down but I wanna make a surprise until it gets here :) I'm very, very excited to get it.

I'll update the thread accordingly, I really appreciate all the feedback!

Looking forward to it!

IMG_0669.JPG Based on your wanting the ZT 0456, I'm gonna go out on a limb here but it is different and really cool. Look into the DCPT 4 by Custom Knife Factory. The company makes incredible knives and very unique. I own the Ratata and I love it.

High quality EDC that just plain does the job is my Spyderco Gayle Bradley. Here is how Gayle Bradley describes his knife.

I love the ZT0456; but it's still smaller than I like, so I only carried it for a brief period.
The 0095BW looks good, and is the right size (let's not forget the slicey blade!)...i just didn't find it as comfortable I hand as I'd hoped.
SNG-CC? Love it (mine is CTS-XHP)
XM-18 (3.5") - Love it
Southard Tolk - Love it
Olamic - I'm eyeing the Wayfarer and the 247 pretty hard; but I'll probably opt for the 247 (the Wayfarer is over 9" oal)
Begg Steelcraft Bodega - a little big... but I might try it, if I find one in a color/pattern I like

Matt Bailey model 2 flipper. That CPM-154 gets so incredibly sharp, you can stab the air and do damage.

$290-$350, depending. Here's mine:

IMO CRK makes the overall best suited for me do-all knives. They re equally hardy, handy and sexy. The XM-18 has been one hell of a confidence inspiring user for me. I don't believe there is a more properly built knife from a stout mechanical standpoint. The Spyderco Paramilitary 2 is, IMO, the overall #1 knife, all things considered... Cost, materials, design & build, fit and finish & general sexiness.

So as promised, here's the knife I decided to go for. The main things that pulled me in this direction were that I was tired of frame locks, flippers, thumb studs and metal grips. Plus I wanted to try a new manufacturer (for me). I've only had it about 30 seconds but I love it!!!

A most excellent choice! Isn't the Axis lock stupendous??
Enjoy it!!
Joe
