(Resolved) Goinggear.com can't be bothered to package things correctly

I would have no problem buying from Going gear after the owner statement.

I responded to the initial post to compare and contrast the packaging of my 0801S110VBLK order to that received by Comeuppance. Reporting the details of an experience and "bashing" are, IMO, different. I have not had a bad experience with Going Gear. I was merely pointing out that, if the USPS shipping box had experienced trauma en route to me, the ZT boxes would likely have been damaged as well (as happened to Comeuppance), even though the brown packaging paper was used in my case.

I have made at least four purchases from Going Gear (including Hinderers, an HDS flashlight, and now these ZTs), and I have not had a single bad outcome. Everything that I have ordered has arrived in excellent condition. And it is also great to see the owner responding directly to this matter...kudos for that! I will certainly continue to purchase from Going Gear.

Personally I think these type of threads are a load of crap if posting it without contacting the seller first. If you have a problem with a seller you should always contact them first. I have had this happen to me in the past and found it very irritating that the buyer couldn't be bothered to contact me first and had to start a thread complaining about the knife not being up to his expectations. I just don't get it. The OP should feel bad for posting this thread.:thumbdn:
EDIT: And as far as complaining about their price being 25 dollars over map is BS also. No one made you buy them.

I will pipe in and ""AGREE With Dapper Dan"" 100%
A phone call an email--a conversation of some nature-- before a post in here as I stated in my posting earlier
would have been FAR MORE APPROPRIATE..
Often I feel..FOLKS so JUMP to conclusions before using COMMON SENSE and PROPER
Business Ettiquete..
That is merely my opinion..As we know everyone has ONE..

I should feel bad for posting about a company who ships things with inadequate packaging? Goodness. I don't, but, it's interesting that you have such animosity for consumer feedback.

It's not BS to complain about premium pricing netting sub-standard results. If I'm going to overpay for an item from a small-time dealer, I would generally expect good service and attention to detail. I would have expected this from Amazon, but not a small business.

I did contact the company first, by the way. The email I had sent was pretty much 1:1 what I posted here, as I had already stated. They took a while to respond, and, just yesterday, they agreed to take the items back for a refund - but stated that is their "standard" packaging for shipping. I only hope they change their standard when they see the items in person...

Edit 2: Went back and read the dealer's post. Glad to see they are changing their shipping methods.

If you subscribe to the GoingGear.com newsletter, you'll get discount coupons to use when checking out. On my latest order I got 15% off the total, that's not too shabby.

Ah! Man, that would have been $90 off! Dang. Oh well. They're going back and someone else can go get them with a discount.

Anyway, as this is resolved, I'm going to go ahead and lock the thread.
