Recently saw a knife for sale in the exchange, but sale was only open to gold members and above. Why would someone do that?

Unless there was another one, that was probably me. The item was a Burger sword cane. Since they are probably illeagal everywhere in the US, and since Pirates are paying members, my thinking was that it would more likely go to an adult. I know that does not stand up to common sense but it just felt right to me at the time and so I did it. It was purchased by a gold member but one I don't recall ever having posting in the Cove. I know it sounds funny but afterall, I am a "goofy doofus".

Whatever......."but afterall, I am a "goofy doofus"" thats no excuse .I for one would be insulted....now were restricting who we can sell to?? I for one, am an adult, because I am not a "GOLD" member, I am not considerded an adult...?? I have done many trades and purchased items through Blade Fourms, and never once was told I am not an adult because I am not a "GOLD MEMBER". Is there were we are headed too???

Anyway, thats just my opinion.
(I'm sure I will get some negative feed back for expressing this)

I don't think owning a sword cane is illegal anywhere in the US, though you could post in Knife Laws to make sure of that. Carrying one would be illegal in places that have blade length limits, but not owning one.

I have seen gold members, registered users, moderators, platinum members, but not once have I seen "Pirate" under anyones name. What must one do to earn this title, I wanna be a Pirate!

Must be a secret, underground, organization on Bldae Fourms......First rule on being a "pirate" never talk about being a "Pirate".......Second....

Why does it need to go to an adult.I dodn't think there are any laws on knives to minnors. At least not in this state(except for Wal Mart and their owm rules that they call laws).I can remember collecting and buying knives at 12 and I don't even think about asking someones age.

There is no "we". Bladeforums selling policies had nothing to do with this. It is the way "I" chose to handle the sell of my property.

Your right, all I am saying is , is this going to be a trend with other members?? As far as the way you handle to sell your property, your also right to do as you wish. Are you saying you will not sell to any member that is not a "GOLD MEMBER"? please by all means....let us know now so we dont waste time looking at your for sale items. As far I am concerend, I have no intrest in doing business with you, but maybe other members might want to, and possibly they might not be a "GOLD Member" or a "Pirate" whatever that title is.

I don't see it becoming a trend. Sellers are allowed to set the conditions of the sale though. If people want to restrict their sales then that is their business, it will only limit the number of customers. It's not like he is discriminating based on race, religion, et al.

You right Paul, and thats why I am going to let this go. :)

I do not sell knives to minors. Unless in the military.
Sorry if it is ageism.
Randy

P.S. Thomason can sell his property to whoever he wants, however he wants, whenever he wants.

You are certainly entitled to express your opinion, and by coming out and being a dick, maybe an adult dick, for the way you said it, not what you said, you can be sure that people will not sell to you for that reason, more than not being a Gold Member.

All that being a Gold Member means is that you care enough about BladeForums to financially support it, kind of like the PBS, but for knife nuts.

Ok maybe it was said the wrong way, it was not said to be offensive, just my opinion of the matter. I know that being a gold member is to support this site and not to judge somebody's age. If nobody wants to deal with me, so be it. Opinions vary, you expressed yours about me and thats fine.

I wouldn't worry to much,I can see how you might have taken it as an insult being a non-paying member and being singled out so to speak. In any case if anybody ever is in the position to conduct a transaction with CPettersen,I wholeheartedly recommend this individual. He is without a doubt a person of honor and integrity,Gold member or not.

The more I think about it the term Pirate would be best suited for registered users who are non paying members and exploit the forum for their own personal gain.

That is the true meaning of a Pirate, not a good wholesome money supporting Gold member...right?

I can't remember any Pirates in history that gave instead of took, "Blackbeard the Generous" maybe har de har har.......(cough)
