The issue is not that his opinion isn't valid. We all like what we like and we have every right to that. The issue is this guy joined a wonderful forum to make one salacious post bashing a well liked company, never to return. He's not in this hobby. If he was he would know that a fair amount of quality knives have a multi-position clip option. If he cared in the least about what we do here he would have seen how we discuss, debate, and research knives. If this was such an issue that he would take the time to join up and write a long post berating Spyderco he should have spent that time researching the newer version of the knife. But no. He spent only enough time on this project to look at the picture on Amazon, which admittedly is wrong. That said, if he bothered to read the description on Amazon it says it comes with a four-position hourglass clip that supports fully ambidextrous left- and right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. Is simply looking at a picture a good way to research a product before you buy? Nope. Should you assume that a knife you bought 20 years ago will not change? Nope.
Yeah Spyderco changed his favorite design. Sorry, but you don't always get what you want in life. It is how you handle a situation like this that defines character. Look how he handled it.
Agreed. Although, to be fair, the OP *might* be preoccupied with T-day plans and thus not responding. But it is suspicious when someone signs up, posts one negative complaint, and runs. My Police models don't have the extra holes, but even if they did, it wouldn't bother me enough to not want the knife anymore. It certainly doesn't affect the performance of the knife, though I like the clip where it's always been.
