I saw him share this knock-out award victory on Instagram - and I'll say based on the work he's been doing he deserves all of them. He has taken on seriously complex, interesting historical patterns and made stunning examples out of all of them.

This knife arrived yesterday, and while posted elsewhere, it deserves a 'shout out' in this thread also!! I sent Rhid a piece of Eastern Maple I had around for over 40 years, and asked him to make me a Peach Pruner, and he knocked this simple, unprepossessing knife Outta the Park!! You might know I love this pattern! My idea of a knife is "useful, with a purpose", and This is the best iteration ever!!Peach 1.jpgPeach 2.jpgPeach 3.jpg
Hard to see in a scan, but there is great chatoyance in this wood!!
I've added Rhidian's name to the thread title!! He's no longer a new kid, but a Professional!! ;)

Fantastic job he has done,I cant be the only one who wants a picture of you pruning peaches now.😍

40 years Charlie, I guess you really wanted to make sure it had dried out then? 🤣

Congrats Charlie, it's a beauty ! 😍

Just amazing stuff. What is a punch typically used for?
Cutting holes in leather; your belt when you put on weight!! Ha Ha!
People scrape with it. Sometimes clean out your pipe. I've seen whittlers use them to make holes/eyes/dots.. Repairing Harness and Tack was the main intention!!

Charlie- I really admire the way you speak of Rhidian, and I can and hear why listening to the Podcasts etc.

That Peach Pruner is superb- he did good of that lovely bit of wood you have been hanging onto for so long! - Wow!

That stockman is stunning, but the one with the punch would get me to fix the hole in my wallet which would then allow me to try and get one.he makes such excellent knives I tried getting on the list about 4 years ago but no luck at all lol.

Charlie! Fantastic! I got to meet Rhidian at BS this year. Super nice gentleman.

Also, I may know the owner of that “Safety folder” you posted. ;) (not me)
