Absolutely Beautiful. 😍

I finally get to contribute something special to this most excellent thread.

Not only was it a pleasure to meet Rhidian and his dad at the recent knife show in Oregon, but I was privileged to show him a knife that we had been discussing for a bit beforehand. He took it home with him and reproduced it in such an amazing way and I can safely say that I couldn't be happier with it.

A unique knife where a Lambsfoot blade is paired with a swell center frame - it's an absolute treat to behold.

I also was fortunate to add one of his original patterns to my collection as well - the Wave Trapper. Both knives are just supreme examples of the cutler's craft. I couldn't be happier with my first foray into custom slipjoints.

Thank you so much, Rhidian Rhidian . These are special knives.

A couple of beauties, Dylan!!
Nice going Rhidian; the lambfoot is such a great, useful blade, and it is nice to see it in a swell-center pattern!!! You have captured yet another old pattern's spirit!! :)

Too cool, Dylan! Looks like Rhidian makes a nice Lambsfoot blade, and I particular like the blade etch.

Congratulations Dylan, two stunning knives there. I love your Lambsfoot, and think Rhidian Rhidian has done an incredible job of matching the original pattern 😎🙂👍

Thanks Charlie!

Hi Folks!! Remember these??Dippety 1.jpgDippety 3.jpg
Thanks to Duncan, Campbellclanman Campbellclanman , I found a knife that he had scored so intriguing, that I asked Rhidian to make a copy; Hence Sheep's Last Dip came to be!!
It is a fascinating replica of a Castrating knife from New Zealand; made in Sheffield!
Thanks for the original, Duncan!!
A friend here in BC found another of the same pattern, and sold it reasonably to me; how could I resist??Dippety more 1.jpgDippety more 2.jpg
The Mark side tang is stamped "CLEMENTS" and the knife has a "Real Pampa Knife" stamped into the blade!!!Dippety more 3.jpgDippety more 4.jpg
The pile side tang is stamped SHEFFIELD (arched) (over) MADE! And it has Stag handles with hammered pins!! Great Snap!!
This wonderful old version seems to have been made by the same company as the original one we started with - possibly a contract knife by/for Lockwood Brothers!!???
More research may be called for!!!
Thanks Rhidian Rhidian , for calling up history so well with the "Dips!!!

Both the original and the custom are amazing.

Charlie- It's a massive Thank You! What you have done with so many knives is amazing- this is yet another awesome thing you have accomplished with your insight and actually getting another pattern from the past to be known.

That Clements is a beauty isn't it - gorgeous example in fantastic condition- that Sheffield Made stamp does make you wonder if a Mester did do the work as you suggested.

Very nice Charlie 😎 I'm just about to go to sleep, but it looks like a Lockwood knife, made for Clements, whoever they were.

I've never seen a stamp exactly like that one, Duncan!! 😲

My sentiments exactly, Jack!!;) Have a good sleep!!!😴

waynorth waynorth How is it that a rare knife like this somehow ends up in your hands? It was meant to be!! Very interesting to see it with stag and a full blade. It also has a bit more angle to the tip making more of a pointed blade. What is Pampa?

I think I have Charlie, as well as 'Sheffield Make', which always amuses me! 😁 Thank you my friend, I'm afraid I'm in the same position again! 😁👍

Pampa was a trademark of Lockwood Brothers 👍

Rhidian Rhidian -
Goins' lists several versions of "Clements" from 1850 to 1875!! Markings also referenced Sheffield!!
I am not so sure this knife is that old!!
'Lockwood' used "Real Pampa" with the running ostrich, from 1849 until somewhat recently (1950s perhaps, under alternate ownership!)
