Richard Rogers: Custom Knives

Beautiful work, Richard. Elliot, you'll obviously be having a very merry Christmas! :)

Wow!

Elliott, my friend, it looks like you are having a VERY MERRY Christmas this year! Richard's work is always stunning, and the "through the tang" long pull on the master is a real homage to the past, while the integral bolsters are pure modern excellence.

Truly, a knife for the ages. Many congrats!!

Thank you, Jeff. I can't wait to see the real thing.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I just checked the tracking and the knife finally made it to NC. Hopefully they'll get it to Blues before Christmas. I just hope he likes it! :)

Well it might get here today but you know who is commandeering it before I get my grubby hands on it before Sunday...

:p

Richard,

Heck of fine looking knife. -:thumbup::cool:

Congrats to both you and Blues.

Happy Holiday's

TA

Thanks guys. It's here but I can't get at it...;)

Happy Holidays to you all.

Great knife Elliott....the waiting is the hardest part!!!!! Enjoy it when you get it...happy holidays!!!

Come on Elliott...all good things are worth waiting for...and there's no doubt that this knife is worth some wait...also, maybe you can't put your hands on it now, but sure it's not going anywhere without your permission... :D
Enjoy your gift!

Whew, it has been a busy week and this is my first view of this knife.

Uh, Elliott ... how are ya going to top this. :D. What a fantastic looking example of one of your favorite patterns.

I already know the finish is going to be out of this world. Have said for years "Richard's work is consistently excellent even in places where nobody is looking" ;)

Thanks, Gus, and thanks for introducing me to Richard all those years ago.

Opened the knife this morning and it surely didn't disappoint. The knife has an authentic vintage look and feel married together with the best of modern materials and craftsmanship.
At 3 1/4 ounces it's a joy in the pocket as well.

The scales have a beautiful sea/bottle green undertone to them which really lends interest. A very nice knife and one I will be proud to put alongside my other gems by Richard.

Richard,

Well done! After speaking with Elliott today I know just how thrilled he is with his new cattle knife.

Merry Christmas,

Hi guys,

Here's something a little different. I've been playing around with more user-friendly finishes. Here's a big Jack (4 1/4" frame), shadow pattern G-10, and a stonewashed finish. Steel is A-2. Overall weight is only 2.1 ounces.

Any interest in this type of knife/finish? Let me know what you think.

Take care,

Richard

Richard,

I think the stonewash finish is a worthwhile option for sure especially on a hard-use working knife. I can invision guys that like a patina on carbon blades would like this finish on SS blades. Much like Todd's D. and Kerry's acid etched blades.
