Richard Rogers: Ivory "Sowbelly"

My first impression was,"Holy Shit!!" Very nice and beautiful knife. Anyone would be proud and happy to own that one.

My first impression was something similar! ;)

(And my thanks for the compliment!)

Sick!

I don't know how I missed this thread yesterday.

WOW !!! What a Knife Elliot:thumbup:

I'm thinking that may have just went into your top 5 or 10 catagory. Not easy to do with your collection, but that fine piece just may have done it.

Thanks for the pics.

Richard, outstandingly stunning knife:thumbup:

That is a dandy of a knife Elliott! Congrats to you both. I'm in love with it!

You guys keep this up and we won't be able to afford Richard's knives next year!

:D

Many thanks for all your thoughts. And Ken, you're right. Richard's knife is right there at the top with the very best.

That is a gorgeous Sowbelly. I've met Richard a number of times and have seen many pieces by him. He definitely makes some of the nicest folders I've ever seen.

Plus, IIRC, he use to be a CPA.

We try not to discriminate and strive to make everyone feel welcome here, even CPA's and attorneys. :p ;)

Wow I missed this one too! What a stunning Sowbelly Elliott! Just perfect!

Quick Postscript:

Now that I have had a few weeks to live with this knife and examine it in all its aspects, I would have to truthfully say it is as fine a knife as I have ever had the pleasure to own or admire. Truly, I can find nothing that I would ask the maker to execute better if I were critiquing the knife in preparation for his building another. (The images do not come close to showing the beauty of this knife. Not close at all.)

Major kudos and my thanks again to Richard for giving me the opportunity to own this knife.

Just saw this thread come back up. Wow what a beauty. This thing belongs in the cove where we can drool and catcall over it.

The maker is one seriously talented man. A true modern day master. Wow.

I just wanted to take a minute and congradulate you on a very beautiful knife. I am fairly new to knife collecting and especially this forums site. I have learned so much and have had the opportunity to see some very special knives from some very special knife makers. Just keep'em coming. I can't afford one but it sure doesn't cost to window shop. Again you did good.

Truly a piece of functional art. If anyone ever questioned why you collect, just show them that!

That is a peach.

Thank you for the kind words. I (and I'm sure Richard) truly appreciate them.:thumbup:

I do not understand how anyone can look at that knife and not see the elegance and functionality. It truly looks like one of the nicest knives that I have seen, and I bet it's a lot nicer in real life.

Elliott, it says something about you that every one of us on this forum seems to think that that knife could not have found a more suitable owner.

Thank you for that compliment my friend. I may not deserve it but I'll try to earn it.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I really appreciate them. I'm always trying to improve. I'm glad Blues likes it so much. :)

Take care,
