Rick Barrett shobu-zukuri tanto made from Rick’s own orishagane. The blade is in full sashikomi polish with a custom shirasaya made by Randy Black with wooden birch habaki. The Saya has a little bit of separation at the top back. Doesn't effect its ability to hold the blade safely but it's something either I'm going to fix if I wind up keeping this or the new owner will want to look at wood gluing. This piece is absolutely stunning and is a very large and strong blade. The polish highlights the beautiful hada, which is quite impressive. The details of the grain structure and the quality of the steel coloration are excellent. If you know what this blade is I really don't need to go on about it... you know this is top quality. Here are the specs...

Specifications -
OAL: 16 and 3/8 inches
Nagasa: 12 inches
Nakago length: 4 and 3/8 inches
Motohaba: 1 inch
Sakihaba: 3/4 inch
Motokasane: 3/16 inch
Sakikasane: 1/8 inch
File Marks: kesho yasuramei; signed with Rick’s mei and dated

If anyone wants pics of the Mei I can take them. Just gimme a shout.
