Rick Menefee Knives...

- well, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like this awesome Back Pocket is going to be mine.

Rick, that's a stunning looking folder - but, having just spied a couple others here, don't think it's going to be my last...
Nice grab Paul.

Rick makes a great knife but I doubt that he agrees that they are better than Tony's. Every knife that Tony makes he makes to be used and they cut pretty good. A small percentage of them are ever used so we can only assume the unused ones cut as well as the used ones. There are plenty of bloody pix in the Bose thread showing them being used and I use mine so I don't know of any complaints.

Which of Tony's and Rick's knives did you use to do your cutting comparisons? It might be a good idea to start a thread showing all of that data. :p

FWI...just a heads up...those are all Bose patterns in your image. :)

I'm sure most T. Bose knives that go out the door are just fondled, photographed and collector items. Rick makes a great knife and I've owned more than a few and they do cut like crazy. Fit and finish on Rick's are REAL tough to beat too. I'll bet even the micarta Bose knives are "used" very gingerly. I have fixed blades from Rick and Bret Dowell that I'll use with great care.

KnifeHead, you have access to Bose knives and if you are lucky you might even have a Menefee. I suggest you do a cutting comparison. Maybe throw in a Bret Dowell and Jerry Halfrich too. I have used knives from all 4 of these makers and for sharpness and slicing ability i stand by what i said.
I'll expand a bit by saying that Mr. Bose has given a great deal to the world of Traditional folders. He has revived and brought new life into many fine vintage patterns and the fit and finish of his multiblades is top notch. My comment only referred to sharpness and slicing.

First of all I don't talk about fellow knife makers quality, especially in a public forum. They are artisans after all and I find it rude to attempt to lift one makers work by putting another ones down.

Second of all I call BS on the mystery cutting test. But, I'm really glad you like Rick's knives because he likes groceries. :)

I have a Bose knife and carry and use it every day since I received it. They are tools and should be used me thinks.....

Pictures ,or it didn't happen :D

I love my collection of Menefee Knives, I only wish I wouldn't have sold about half of them. Ricks waiting list is about as long as the rest of the top knife makers, but definitely worth the wait. Sometimes you can find one on the secondary market, if your in a big hurry. BTW, Nice stag on that one, Don.
