Rick Menefee Knives...

Best thing about my stuff they cut. A man can re-sharpen very easy. Nothing more than a great tool! I'm fixing to finishing one today. Its a frog choker in Gods Country today.

Rick, just wanted to share my first hand made slip joint with you.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, that is a great looking knife. Did you manage to grind a good taper both to edge and to tip such that blade is quite thin just above the edge ?
Unique handle ! interesting & attractive. How much relief is there on it ? like are dark areas lower than the light colored areas ?
I know this is a Menefee thread but Rick is a generous man so i'm sure he does not mind a few questions about your first slipjoint.

I gotta few of them Rickki blades. Real good knives. I'd take a Menefee over a Bose any day. They cut better, eh.

kj rockin the boat

Rick makes a great knife but I doubt that he agrees that they are better than Tony's. Every knife that Tony makes he makes to be used and they cut pretty good. A small percentage of them are ever used so we can only assume the unused ones cut as well as the used ones. There are plenty of bloody pix in the Bose thread showing them being used and I use mine so I don't know of any complaints.

Which of Tony's and Rick's knives did you use to do your cutting comparisons? It might be a good idea to start a thread showing all of that data. :p

FWI...just a heads up...those are all Bose patterns in your image. :)

Well said Kerry. I have the Bent Gunstock Rick recently made for me and it is an awesome knife. If I could purchase one of Tony's knives I would be happy to do a "Cutting Comparison" simply because I would love to own a knife made by Tony. ;):D

Just for the Record. T. Bose is my Hero and I have the pleasure to converse daily. Lots of great makers know days. Its a great time to be a consumer.

Addendum
I Carry a Tony , Lloyd, Prepuberta Bose or Dowell Daily. Never my own

4.5 Back pocket w/ Jack Blade

- well, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like this awesome Back Pocket is going to be mine.

Rick, that's a stunning looking folder - but, having just spied a couple others here, don't think it's going to be my last...
