I picked up my first Rick Menefee custom slipjoint from JWKnives for $175.00. It's a liner less shadow EDC Wharncliff Trapper. This is what my $175.00 bought.

Really nice natural micarta handles.
NOOOOO play open are closed.
No gaps in the black spring and handles. Light doesn't even make it through.
154CM Steel ground to just under .020 at the edge.
Blade flush in all three positions and centered when closed. Yes it has a half stop.
Nicely rounded back spring and blade spine.
Great snap , it really walks and talks.
Sharp out of the box.
Weighs only 1.6 ounces.

Did I mention it cost $175.00 from a dealer including paypal fee's shipping and insurance.

The only minor issue's with the knife was a few grind marks on the blade spine and back spring. I spent a few minutes sanding them out. Then I lightly buffed the blade spine and back spring to a almost mirror finish. The other issue is the plunge grind is slightly off at the blade tang. But as I mentioned earlier for $175.00 I am very happy with the knife.

Closed 3 7/8 inches
Open 7 inches
Blade tang to tip 3 1/8 inches
Cutting edge 2 7/8 inches

Very nice knife, Larry!

I've always loved the bolsterless design for low weight.

Would you call it a warnie soddie?:D

Larry,

That's a very cool knife in every detail you described. Great photos too.

I bet it's very light in your pocket.

Congrats, Larry. Looks like a nice one. I know fewpop got a Menefee a couple months back and had nice things to say about it as well.

Beautiful knife Larry. Thanks for sharing that one.

I have really been enjoying my Menefee, which is pretty similar to yours, but mine has steel liners. I also really like 154cm blades. I reprofiled mine to about 17 degress pers side, and it is a wicked slicer. I'd like to get one of his clip point linerless shadow models next I think.

imho, his knives are a real sweet deal.

thanks for looking at my knives. i have started grinding with a 14 inch wheel and it has been a little hard to get use to. if any one gets one of my pocketknives from a dealer that they are unhappy with and it is still knew call me 405-222-8939 cell any time . i will fix the problem or trade you out.

Larry,

I actually handled that knife in one of our OKC knife collectors donut meetings. It's such a nice knife. You can barely feel it in your hand, it's so light.

rick makes a fine slipjoint.
